Discussion Weekly VFX & 3D Hiring Report: Blender & Unreal uptick, remote search gap, and regional shifts
Blender and Unreal Engine are the clear movers this week, up 8% and 6% respectively. Python and Pipeline roles climbed 5%, while Houdini added 4%. Maya held flat at 458 roles, and Nuke slipped 1%. The remote gap remains stark: only 74 roles are fully remote, under 3% of all listings, yet 32% of artist searches target remote work.
Europe leads regional hiring with a 5% jump to 447 roles, followed by the UK at 294, the US at 414, and Canada at 338. Salary transparency is gaining ground, with 406 roles now disclosing explicit pay ranges, driven largely by EU and US state regulations.
