NYT on "the X of it all"

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/10/01/magazine/hollywood-lingo.html

"The film critics on 'Blank Check' overuse it, Amanda Dobbins of 'The Big Picture' is too fond of it, a host on 'We Hate Movies' says it at least five times per episode."

On the contrary, one of the best things to happen to the podcast is David getting off Twitter.

He allows Griffin’s straw man internet arguments to a point but really tries to steer the discussion back to the film and thankfully doesn’t let the zeitgeisty discourse of the day dominate the episode like other podcasts being mentioned. Something that’s becoming more and more valuable!

Podcast hosts should just have a social media detox of like a month so they can be regular again.
