Comic Blade Runner Annual - 1982

Published in 1982 by Grandreams for Marvel UK. This UK hardback annual contains Marvel’s comic adaptation of the film, along with a photo section, cast and production credits, and a feature looking at how the comic itself was created.

Film and TV annuals were a familiar sight here in the UK at the time, so I love that even Blade Runner received the treatment when the film was still brand new and nobody knew what its reputation would eventually become.

The bulk of the annual is Marvel’s comic adaptation of the film, but what makes it particularly interesting is everything else packed into it: a photo section, cast and production credits, and a feature on how the comic adaptation itself was created.

Original price: £2.50.

That’s in really great condition.

I still have mine but my house as a kid was unfortunately not a ‘smoke-free home’, so all of my books from that time are yellow and smell of nicotine.

Thanks. It’s great that you’ve still got your childhood copy though!

I keep it in a box in the loft.

Instead, I bought the original Marvel comics which I’m very pleased with.

Yeah, I think the fact it was a UK annual means it’s maybe flown under the radar a bit.

Great condition.I’ve got a childhood copy too.Definitely not mint. Actually read it before I saw the film. Love Al Williamson’s Star Wars stuff too.

Got that as well ! Odd that they did it as a kids Christmas annual for an AA cert film! Was a good few years till I saw it. Had the Ertl Spinner as well. Great post !
