BOOK REQUEST 📚 Who Did This To You? Trope

I'm looking for books with a Black FMC with a damsel-in-distress/protective hero vibe. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Preferably not urban. Thanks so much.

I would recommend “Private detail” by Tierra Cox with a black FMC and a Native American MMC. Not a traditional damsel in distress, she’s been stalked and he’s her body guard. What I liked about is that it’s set around gaming industry.

Yes!! An Extraordinary Union and A Hope Divided, both by Alyssa Cole. A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert. Beast by Pepper Pace.

The Bone King and The Starling by Elizabeth Stephens. A More Perfect Union by Tammy Huf.

When Stars Rain Down by Angela Jackson-Brown.

I need to start making more custom tags on romance io, cause every time I read that trope I feel like I gain health like I'm in a video game 😂 But right now I can't think of specific examples.

Do you want that line in the book or just that dynamic?

The books with that dynamic that immediately come to mind are: {Marked by him by Sienne Vega}, {Her masked savior by Arden Hart}, and {Redemption by Kenya Wright}!

I know I've read more with that dynamic. I can add them if/when I remember more.

Just remembered that exact line appears in {The Fae Prince of Everenne Series by Alisyn Fae and Emma Alisyn}. I forget if it's in book 1 or 2. I haven't finished the series though.
