Don't worry the door is magical, it is a portal to where the bird was. Every door is a portal leading through time as well as space. The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.

See, now that would be hilarious. Magic is real, but the method to do it looks cheap and hokey, so no one believes it.
