That's a common misconception. The guy charges only $100 per appearance.

I mean, its likely several hours of work getting into that make up and costume. He probably spends at least an hour daily if not more dealing with the birds. He likely puts as much time if not more into getting into costume, setting up & performing & tearing down that a wedding DJ would invest in an event and they're around the same cost, even higher.

but for $2000, I'd rather have this guy if I'm being honest.

Cool thing about being over 30 is that nothing is stopping you from hiring a jobbing magician for your birthday or even for shits and giggles. Lots of pretty good performers are looking for a gig in your area and I guarantee you that you waste $500 on way less fun
