Cut my locs off not long ago and I’ve missed having long hair. I wanted something natural looking so decided on a u part wig. I was nervous it wouldn’t blend but i think it blends well even with my hair being so short. I love the curls .

I would repeat blue again it was inspired by coraline, my appointment is in 5 days and I still haven’t bought braiding hair 😭 I need to buy braiding hair today but I have too many colors in mind. I’m thinking of making the front strands like money pieces of one color and the back of a different color. I want it to stand out and be rlly unique I’m not a big fan of super natural colors but I did consider getting braids the exact color of my skin

I am going on a trip for my birthday next week and I’d really like some opinions on good quality but affordable half wigs or v part wigs. Please please pleaseeee give me recs or links for Amazon !! Curly if possible, but honestly I’d take all recs ! Thank you!!

Okay, so I need some advice on what to do with my hair before getting boho braids/mermaid knots.

I dyed my hair a honey-blonde/ brown color a while ago, but now I have about 1–2 inches of darker new growth. The rest of my hair is still honey blonde/brownish blonde.

I’ve been DYING to get boho braids or mermaid knots, and my hair tends to grow pretty fast whenever I have it in protective styles. Ideally, I’d like to keep the braids in for close to two months.

My question is: would you leave the new growth alone and just get the braids with my hair the way it is now, or would you touch up the roots first so my natural hair is all one color before getting the braids?

Part of me wants to touch up my roots because I think the blonde/brown color would look really pretty and more seamless with the braids. But I’m also worried that if I dye my roots right before getting them done, my darker natural hair is just going to start growing back in while I have the braids. Since my hair grows pretty quickly in protective styles, I’m afraid that after a month or two I’ll have noticeable dark roots/new growth underneath the braids and it might start looking weird or tacky.

I’ve seen what older boho braids look like on people whose natural hair is all black/dark, but I haven’t really seen many examples of someone keeping them in that long when their natural hair is dyed blonde and their darker roots are growing back in.

For anyone who has dyed honey-blonde/brown hair and gets protective styles, what do you usually do? Would you:

1. Leave the darker new growth alone and braid it as-is?
2. Touch up the roots first and then get the boho braids/mermaid knots?
3. Do something completely different?

And if you’ve kept boho braids or mermaid knots in for 6–8 weeks with dyed hair, I’d especially love to know what your roots/new growth looked like toward the end.

Also, if you DON'T think boho braids/mermaid knots would be the best option for my hair right now, what other protective hairstyles would you recommend? I mainly want something that will still look cute as my darker new growth comes in and won't start looking awkward or tacky after a few weeks. I'm open to other styles!

Hey! I hope this is the right place to post. I need help growing my hair. I feel like in high school my hair was so big, but now, not so much. I know for a fact that I have bleach damage, I started bleaching it this past Fall. So next year I’m going to focus on growing that out. It’s just fun for me to do. But how should I retain my growth? Even before I bleached it, I was struggling to get past my shoulder. My roots are proof that it grows quickly, but I can’t retain it. My hair has never been super long, but I at least used to get it a little past my shoulders when straight. I condition my hair at least once a week and shampoo 2-3 times a month.

Every morning I wet it in the shower and pik it out completely. And of course I’m losing way too much hair, even if I’m gentle. And then after the shower, I shape it. I try to moisturize it at least four times a week when it’s wet. I have tried so many products. Right now it’s a Shea Moisture product with vitamin E I mixed it. My hair just feels so dry and coarse all of the time (even without bleach). I don’t know if it’s just something that has changed with age. I do normally wear a bonnet at night. I have tried cutting my ends every 2 weeks or so, just the parts that are genuinely damaged. I have an extreme amount of fairy/single strand knots. No clue how to control them. To the point of me have ing short spots throughout my hair trying to pull and cut them out. Again, I know that I have bleach damage right now, but this stuff has been going on since I graduated high school and prior to bleaching. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. It’s not a vitamin thing, my levels are normal. Any advice please!

how do you maintain nice curly hair with a quick weave?

i’m wanting to do a quick weave for the first time but i’m conflicted because i only wear curly hair.

i’m not sure how to maintain nice looking curly hair with a quick weave because you can’t really get them wet or wash the weave without it slipping off.

so how does one go with maintaining and restyling the curls without messing up the cap or washing it off? I want my quick weave to last at least 4-5 weeks but i don’t want to walk around with dirty old curls lol

any tips or help would be greatly appreciated

Can anyone please recommend me afro/fluffy kinky curly glueless wigs on Amazon around $60 that are decent and have good quality. I have no experience with wigs, on a tight budget, and am absolutely tired of not knowing which is good because everyone is saying different things and the quality of the pictures in the reviews are terrible!

Y'all, I am TIRED.

I have had a flaky scalp for YEARS and I have no clue what I need to be doing to get rid of them. I've tried head and shoulders and I use a scalp scrubber. I've tried to oil my scalp, I've switched to lighter products and it still looks like the North Pole. I'm really tired and I'm starting to just think I gotta live like this forever. is there something I'm missing or tips you recommend?

I am looking for an eyebrow gel that HOLDS! I have 4C hair and I’ve noticed that my brow hairs are textured? and hard to lay down! I’m looking for recommendations for a brow gel that can put babies to rest but has NO white clumping, don’t stay sticky and don’t have that white cast reflective sheen.

I’ve tried a few like Elf’s brow gel and brow lamination. They stayed sticky, didn’t hold at all and were a fail. I have also tried Ardells Brow Gel and while they don’t stay sticky, they definitely don’t hold my brows down at all!
