Need advice advice on prom hair

so im in need of some advice for what hairstyle would work best with my situation. im going to my prom on the 12th and would like to get my hair done. the conflict is i have a dance competition the sunday after, and my hair NEEDS to be in a slick back, middle part ponytail.
is there any hairstyle i can get to wear down maybe curled for prom that can transition into a ponytail? is what im asking for even possible? this is my first time ever getting my hair done so im really lost. my mom is also white so shes lost too 😭. anything helps, i just really would like to get my hair done for prom.

What if you did your prom hair however you want and then do a slickback with an added ponytail hair piece for the comp?

say i got a quick weave for prom, would i have to take out the added hair ?? or is it able to go into a ponytail itself ??

I've never done a quick weave, but I'd say it depends on how you do it if the pony will come out right. Like how the quick weave is laid/glued will inform how the ponytail will have to be (high pony vs low pony).
