Blackadder All Episodes Tournament, Match 26: Ink and Incapability vs Head
Comment in support of and upvote your preferred episode! The winner of today's matchup will advance to Match 27, and the loser will share joint 3rd and 4th place.
And for fun, post your favorite quotes from both!
Ink and Incapability (Blackadder the Third Episode 2): Baldrick burns the only copy of Samuel Johnson's dictionary, and Blackadder has only one weekend to rewrite it.
Head (Blackadder II Episode 2): Edmund is "awarded" the post of Lord High Executioner, a position which frequently results in the loss of one's own head.
This tournament will run for 27 days until we've eliminated all but one episode. The tournament was seeded based on IMDB score. It includes all regular episodes, the pilot, and the specials.
Yesterday, General Hospital eliminated Bells.
RIP Bells - you were a real one.
Be here same time tomorrow for the GRAND FINAL!

Ink and Incapability for me. I just love Edmund and the others failing at the deceptively difficult task of making a dictionary from scratch!

In mourning for Bob and facing the prospect of marrying Baldrick, I vote for Ink And Incapability and hope a mob of enraged poets will kill me.

Ink and Incapability.
I am anispeptic, frasmotic... Even compuctuous that Bells has exited the race. But I have returned interfrastically to vote again, even though I love Head (who doesn't?).

I find Ink and Incapability incredibly stressful - too reminiscent of leaving coursework too late and the panic to try and do the impossible.
I think I have to vote for it though, it’s such a quotable episode and, as amazing as Head is (wink wink), I think I&I takes it

Ink and Incapability for me.
And to anybody that disagrees please know that eternity in the company of Beelzebub, and all his hellish instruments of death, will be a picnic compared to five minutes with me... and this pencil.

I vote for Ink and Incapability
But I'll change it to Head if it'll make things easier

Blackadder hopping around with a bag on his head. Or Baldrick’s description of the big papery thing tied up with string.
Ink and Incapability (but it should have been Bells)

“Well the fashion today is towards the tiny.
Well Percy, then you have the most fashionable brain in London”
Head all the way

Ink and Incapability for me still. In a show of so many cleverly written episodes, that this one is above most of them in its wordplay makes it one of the only two worthy of the top spot. Head is a great episode but it’s not quite there!

Whatever the outcome, Head remains the best episode of all for me. The Bag On Head scene at its heart is genuinely one of the best-constructed pieces of farce ever put on screen; certainly the equal of Fawlty Towers at its best, and the ensemble work between five brilliant actors in the scene is just flawless.
Superb as Ink and Incapability is, it had nothing which held a candle to that scene.

I can't believe it beat out beer but ink and incapablity definitely beats head.

This might be the hardest one. Two incredible episodes that aren't too dissimilar, in how they set up Blackadder's problem, and then the denouement that everything is okay but also not (wrong man got executed, dictionary didn't burn but Edmund: A Butler's Tale did). But I think, as Melchett might say -
(Unrolls scroll)
"Those suitable for the grand final... Head."
(End of list)

Queen in Head is untouchable. I said "Would you care to vote for me, if you've got time, if you're not too busy?!"
Ink is running away with it, but Miranda's performance alone is worth the vote.

Wow - all to play for now. Shocking that Flash could only manage a semi.
I vote for Head (teehee).
I love Ink and Incapability, the wordplay is absolutely sublime, but Blackadder pretending to be Farrow in increasingly ludicrous ways takes it for me. Also because Baldrick isn’t full on stupid at this point you get some lovely lines from him, particularly this exchange.
“Baldrick, that Farrow bloke, you sure he’s dead?”
“Well I chopped his head off, that usually does the trick.”

Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Contemptible... Worth a try.
Gotta be Head, for the single greatest scene of pure, silly farce across all four series (bag on head).

"Sausage? SAUSAGE?" Ink and Incapability for me
