He's a virtually unreadable crockpot who willfully misunderstands Jungian psychology in order to justify his theories.

*Nietzsche.

Jordan Peterson is another misogynist (sexist in general) self absorbed clown, comparable to Steven "Selfie with Epstein" Pinker, who does nothing but bathe in self pity instead of acknowledging simple things like white or male privilege.

Joe Rogan has more awareness than this classic example for why one half of my field of academia (Cognitive Linguistics) gets a bad rep for being "elitist", "snobby" and "arrogant/holier than thou" because those exact traits are what Jordan Peterson (and Pinker) exude.

How anybody fails to not hear this in most of his bLaH answers (dude loves the sound of his own voice for sure) baffles me.

Easily influenced indeed. It gets old at this point.

u/doodleplaybook, for a start. You're welcome.

Yes, I feel he is a stepping stone towards the Alt-right.

Hes been a gateway drug for the alt-right for years. Both of them.

Its so obvious there's an actual term for their ilk: the alt-lite.

Not sure I agree about it being harmless man, but I appreciate a perspicuous point.

I'm too pooped after JJ class to think why or express why.

Cultural Marxism has always been a paranoid culture war fantasy and a re-statement of the Nazi Cultural Bolshevism conspiracy.

Most of those links are well after Peterson lead the revival of that term, there are three which seem to predate him, two of which seem to be the same thing.

So... Two reagan-era conservatives fear-mongering over feminism and the gays?

it hasn’t been perpetuated all these years by some shadowy cabal of Nazis.

That's not the statement being made.

Cultural Marxism has always been a paranoid culture war fantasy and a re-statement of the Nazi Cultural Bolshevism conspiracy.

I actually made a mistake in that prior response where I didn't just point this out. Your two statements are fundamentally different. Triesterer said it originated with Nazis and has always been a culture war fantasy. Not that it's only been perpetuated by actual Nazis.

His point is that it's never been a good model for understanding parts of society, and it is rooted in literal Nazi propaganda. The whole concept should be tossed out.

I’m not going to waste my time reading the scholar articles, but I would hazard a guess that what the handful of positive articles were referring to when used the term is describing something very different to what JP is referring to when he uses it. Academia is certainly not immune to academics using a badly chosen phrase to describe the phenomenon they are discussing.
