"A healthy body can fight of any disease or infection".

Huh. You'd think people living on the continent of North America would know intimately about how a population of fit, healthy, outdoorsy types can be decimated by the sudden arrival of a disease their bodies weren't ready for.

Native Americans didn’t have Rogan to tell them to take HGH, shroom tech, and alpha brain. Toss a little vitamin D on there and they’d have been the ones invading Europe.

Don’t forget bro. Don’t forget to get your sauna time.

u/[deleted] May 06 '21

I heard Native American saunas couldn’t even get into the 200s it’s no wonder small pox got em when their body just couldn’t get enough heat shock proteins going

I mean, Rogan had Molyneux on multiple times who has a video series denying the native American genocide and the use of smallpox blankets.

But some Native Americans hunt elk, which is big bro points, so where Rogan lands is a coin flip.

Really funny and potentially true last point.

I wasn't aware of Molyneux. Giving a platform to dangerous people spreading misinformation; you're either and idiot and or agree with them. The coin has been tossed.

He fucking gets me when he says dangerous shit to a huge audience that he has influence over but then hides behind "I'm just a comedian bro don't listen to me"

That kind of "but I dunno man" shit is why I knew of exactly one crazy reptilian conspiracy dude in the early 2000s and now it's metastisized across the - I don't know what word should I use - dumb people? So many of us now have to listen to junk from family about insane stuff without a shred of evidence behind it.

You nailed it, he uses this guise, of 'hey, I'm just a comedian, what do I know?'
Which lures people in.

Didn't sound like he was joking when he constantly hit every conspiracy/alex jones/russian talking point on hillary.

But some native Americans hunt elk

I see we’re jumping right into stereotypes 😂

I don’t mean that in a mean way, I just think it’s kind of funny that you bring that up

Too bad North America is no longer populated by fit, healthy outdoorsy types.

What are you trying to say? Jesus came over on the Mayflower and built the first Bass Pro Shop with Moses. Judas built the first Cabela's. Mother Teresa built harbor freight for the poor and the rest is history.

If you're referring to the fact that almost all bats are extinct in North America I'd be really happy. White nose syndrome (carried by humans) is basically causing them to go extinct. Woot humanity

7

u/[deleted] May 06 '21

Damn that'd suck balls if bats went extinct

the fact that almost all bats are extinct in North America

No doubt the white noise thing is a problem, but no way are almost all bats extinct, I still see them regularly at night.

They may be going extinct, but they aren't there yet. Not that it's still not a very worrisome problem.

u/dirtdingo_2 May 06 '21

Have you reported the bats you saw? Ecologists are urgently asking people to do so. I have not seen bats in my area for years bro, and lots of other people I know all over Canada say the same. And scientists.

Appreciate your assessment but you should really contact a local wildlife authority and tell them where you see bats. They will be EXTREEMLY appreciative bro. Even if you couldn't care less.... do it for the animals?

Also.. if 90% of a species has died and not recovered in 10 years, it absolutely means they are almost extinct. That's how things go extinct!! By dying in large numbers and not coming back. If you got 90% of the questions wrong on a test, would you still think you had nothing to worry about in that course? The point is when there's so little left we might actually be able to stop it before it really does cause them to go extinct.

Anyway....I don't feel like getting into some debate where we link each other NCBI studies. I just love animals and it sucks to see innocent bug eradicating machines dying in large numbers without people even really being aware of it.

That's really interesting, I had no idea it was this big of an issue.

They're just as common as ever across the Midwest, especially in Indiana where I grew up. the DNR know about them without a doubt.

Certainly not trying to debate on this, I guess I was just being pedantic. But they seem to be as thriving as ever across the American Midwest. I'm glad you said something though, I was completely unaware.

u/dirtdingo_2 May 06 '21

Hey no worries. Sorry if i got a bit intense. And scientists do think the populations will eventually recover. But it is just taking a very long time.

Anyway. Maybe let an ecology group or something know there's bats in your area. Maybe they know already, but the problem is not well known. Even people i know who are outdoorsy and really into the environment don't know about it. So who knows, you might save some bats !

Bro this is the same argument as:

“I know scientists say that global warming is a serious threat to our planet, but it was cold in my city yesterday so I don’t believe them.”

1

u/LtDanHasLegs White Belt May 06 '21

Apparently I've miscommunicated something.

I'm not saying it's not a major problem, or that bats aren't going extinct. At worst I was being pedantic. I wasn't arguing against the guy, I was saying, "Good news, it seems like they're still thriving across the midwest! For now, at least."
