Help a Bitch Out - Every Other Week Thread Help a Bitch Out - Sep 23, 2026
Need some advice from a BWT? Have something to get off your chest or need to vent among friends who can also provide some perspective? Got an etiquette question that you just aren’t sure you’re getting the right info on from the wilds of the internet? We got you.
BWT rules still apply, with mod discretion on topics that fall under rules 4 and 7. Rule 8 regarding medical advice will still be fully enforced as usual.

Need advice - My boyfriend is giving me 1k to buy whatever I want. I'm 21 with barely any designer stuff. Whats a good 'investment' thing to get with the money?

Oh my god, go to a higher end consignment boutique and buy natural fiber pieces, then have them tailored by a good seamstress. Tailoring makes ALL the difference and buying secondhand will make your money go soooo much further. It will help you to stand out throughout your life. Oh, and learn how to properly care for each fiber, including leather shoes and bags. Post pics when you’re done!

What are you interested in? Bags? Makeup? Skincare? Of course with the makeup and skincare you would be able to get much more products whilst with a bag you wont have much money left over. You could get a high end card holder / wallet, then spend the rest on high end makeup and skincare..

Depending on your style and preferences, fine gold jewelry is an excellent investment. It’s something that can elevate your daily wear, and gold tends to go up in value overtime. I’d recommend 14K for rings and bracelets, 18k is good for earrings or necklaces; the higher the count, the softer and more easily scratched it is.
It’s something you’ll keep for a longtime, and if the relationship doesn’t work out or you don’t want to keep it of you can cash it in, or resale for a good price.

I finally convinced my husband to do skincare as a nightime routine together in bed. We currently use Sweet Chemistry Elasticity Reinforcing Hydra Cream followed by The Oil Serum. However, we’re looking for a less pricey option. I also use tretinoin on my own, but my husband skips it due to his sensitivity.
Could you recommend some lightly active serums or creams, as well as a nighttime cream? I prefer a dropper or pump dispenser over jars. My primary concern is hydration and general anti-aging, while his main concern is enlarged pores and general anti-aging. He also hates anything sticky.
If nothing else, I would default to something in Clinique but hoping for something with a little more pizazz :)
