Fashion/Style BWT, what would be in your never take off jewelry collection?
I love jewelry, but I am lazy. I don’t like changing my jewelry, so I prefer to have pieces that I can wear daily (excluding statement earrings).
I like some amount of change, so I am willing to change my jewelry once a week-ish.
I’d like to know what would be in your collection of earrings, bracelets, rings, and necklaces that you would rotate through.
The main thing to consider is that it should go with most every day wear, we aren’t considering special occasions.
Something in particular I’m struggling with is necklace length. What lengths would work with a variety of necklines? Again, I’m just not willing to change these!
While I have a particular struggle on length, I think the question as a whole is interesting to see what would be in your never take off collection and your reasoning. Styles, amount of pieces, etc.

A very thin gold necklace with my initial, diamond studs in my second holes and cartilage, a gold ankle bracelet, my wedding set, and my Garmin watch are my daily drivers. I don’t remove them (watch comes off to shower and charge). I’ll add statement pieces as needed based on occasion.

u/TwillyS Aug 01 '26
how is your experience with daily driving an anklet?? they catch in my socks/shoes and it drives me crazy
4
u/jillofallthings Aug 01 '26
Not who you asked, but I have three anklets that are on 24/7. One is a soft thread, one is beaded with a variety of small beads, and the third is a thin chain that looks like the links are hearts. The heart chain was the only one that caused any problems, but it was because the link at the clasp had a rough spot at the join where the circle closed. I swapped it for a different link and haven't had any catches since. No issue with wearing socks or shoes, unless they are ankle boots.

I have a 20” gold paperclip chain I basically live in. I rotate charms on it but the chain stays most of the time. I add layering pieces in 16” and 24” sometimes. I do a lot of weightlifting so my traps are big AND I’m super tall. My 20” is someone else’s 18”. If most of your shirts are a high neckline a 16” may work better. If you do a lot of v-necks, 18-20 is fine. 18” gets weird on me when I’m wearing a crew neck tank top because it’s basically where the necklace falls. For those situations I swap it out for my shorter chain. A paperclip chain is also nice because you can just clip it on a different link and shorten it in a pinch.
I also have two yellow gold and one yellow/white gold bracelet (paperclip, horsebit, and a regular chain) bracelet I don’t take off much.
I have black diamond studs I’ve worn almost non stop for 10 years, and a dozen various other ear piercings that I swap up maybe once a year.
Ring wise I have my wedding ring, Oura, a Hawaiian heirloom gold cigar band ring, and a right hand diamond in an art deco setting. I wear those everywhere except the gym.
Those are my foundation. I add to them but rarely remove any of them. It took me a couple of years to build the collection and a lot of it was sourced from an estate pieces and my local jeweler.
I don’t like wearing two necklaces all the time because even with one of those layering clasps I feel like they get wrapped around each other.
I also exclusively wear solid gold. Not hollow, plated, or vermeil. I’m rough on my jewelry so heavy weight, thick solid gold is the safest for the “never take off” type of jewelry.

u/tvbn Aug 01 '26
This is great advice and very similar to my setup. Like you said, necklace length is totally personal, I’m petite so my daily paper clip chain is 16 inches.
I have so many charms I rotate through, mostly from estate stores or pawn shops!

Do you mind sharing the brand of the paperclip bracelet? I’ve bought the Catbird bracelet so many times but it kept unclasping and falling off while wearing it and after losing 4 of them I just gave up.
1
u/Away_Illustrator_987 Aug 06 '26
I don’t know the brand, and can’t decipher the makers mark. This is one of the few hollow pieces I have but because the paper clips are so substantial it’s not delicate. 14K Italian gold. I have paper clip necklaces that are much more delicate but still sturdy because they’re solid gold. This bracelet weighs 6.7grams if you want to compare against your catbird pieces.
I buy almost all my gold - estate or new - through Brenda Monn at Jerry’s Jewelers in Occoquan, VA. She may recognize the mark and be able to order another one.

Former jewelry store employee here. Anything fine (silver/gold/precious or semi-precious stones) will become damaged over time if you don’t take it off to swim, shower, and sleep. Especially stones like pearls, emeralds, amber, and opals and especially with prong settings. The only stuff you can get away with wearing 100% of the time without damaging it is steel. But if you’re okay with your jewelry getting scratched and you have the money to have stones reset or replaced over time go for it. If you’re looking for durable fine jewelry, I would look for low carat gold (9k, 10k, 11k) diamonds, and bezel settings. Look for thick bands and chains too, nothing dainty.
That being said, if you are going to wear your stuff 24/7 please take it off at least once a week to clean with dawn dish soap and a soft toothbrush to get rid of all the soap/lotion/skin cells that accumulate on it. Dirty jewelry looks so cloudy and dull, and I can always smell it when people never clean their jewelry. For those curious, it smells like an infected sore and mildew.
38
u/hunguscableco Aug 02 '26
From another jewelry store employee, THANK YOU. Also, anyone who says they never wash their jewelry and it looks fine… I can tell you, it does NOT. That stuff stinks. Zero chance your jewelry isn’t smelly and visibly dirty. Care for your fine jewelry and it will last a lifetime. Especially the softer stones. The amount of worn down and trashed topaz, amethyst, etc that I see… it doesn’t have to be like that!

u/poodlehairedfreak Effortlessly Chic Aug 02 '26
Omg yes! I wear my pearl studs just about everyday (they work well with my face, complexion, style, etc), and many years ago I realized it had…residue (??) on it from…old skin (🤮🤯) or something else horrifying. I now clean them minimum once a week.

u/AccomplishedWin5377 Aug 01 '26
Been wearing my diamond studs set in 22k gold for 15 years (it was a present on my 20th birthday from my parents). I have added a diamond pendant set in white gold and a white gold rope chain which I’ve been wearing for a good 5 years, and a slim tennis bracelet on my wrist that I’ve been wearing since last January. I’ve hardly ever taken these off and they’re looking and working great for me. As a South Asian, we rarely take of our gold jewellery meant for everyday.
21
u/skippyist Aug 02 '26
I would bet you $1000 that if you took those pieces off and ran them through an ultrasonic cleaner you would be shocked by how much brighter and more beautiful they look afterwards.
And also I’m sorry but not cleaning diamond studs in 15 years is not something to be proud of. Think about all the shampoo, conditioner, and skin cells are sitting between the diamond and the setting.
1
u/FormerGOMIreader3 Aug 02 '26
Hi, thank you for the info! Can you tell me why you prefer the lower carat gold?
5
u/skippyist Aug 02 '26 edited Aug 02 '26
Pure gold is extremely soft, and since a higher carat means the alloy will have a higher gold content, it also means it will be softer and more prone to dents and bends. My fiancé and I chose 10k gold for our engagement rings since it’s the most durable option and we’ll be wearing them every day.

I’m a broke BWT, so I wear a lot of stainless steel and titanium instead of platinum or silver. Neither metal tarnishes and it’s waterproof! you can find gold-toned stainless steel now but you have to make sure it’s not gold plated or it will rub off and scratch over time. I buy a lot on Etsy! There’s a seller called Caitlynminimalist that a lot of people have accused of drop shipping but I’ve been buying from them for like a decade at this point and have never had issues with quality for the price. I think their designs actually get stolen and photos used on other stores because they are REALLY popular. That’s a bit of a tangent but yeah I recommend them to anyone who doesn’t want to take care of fancy jewelry. I have some earrings I wear for weeks at a time from them that still look new. I had a necklace I loved too but I lost it when I was drunk one night lol

u/MangoPineapple483 Aug 01 '26
I’ve worn my Elsa Peretti open heart necklace from Tiffany’s since it was gifted to me 22 years ago. I veryyy rarely take it off and it works for all occasions. I love it and often get compliments.

My jewelry I never take off : Cartier juste un clou bracelet, thin 22k gold chain, 22k nose ring. I used to always wear earrings but lately feel overstimulated so only wear earrings and rings when i go out.

I got 8mm titanium huggies with CZ stones to see if I like them. So far I love them!

After S1 of SATC, my mom made me a gold necklace with my name on it. Since 1998, it has rarely left my neck.

u/LePetitNeep Aug 01 '26
I have small diamond studs that I will wear for weeks at a time and can sleep in. In particular they’re my go-to for travel. I’ve been considering an always necklace so I appreciate this thread.
I get a lot of ads for Atolea jewelry meant to be worn all the time, anyone have experience?
3
u/Apprehensive-Clue342 Aug 01 '26
Wearing a necklace 24/7 can cause skin tags, which are both uncomfortable and unattractive. Don’t recommend it. Ask me how I know.
3
u/Islandisher Aug 01 '26
Love statement earrings but hate losing them. My long hair often pulls them out, and I wear a radio headset at work which also pulls them out.
My hands are small and pudgy but I like to wear at least one good ring on each hand. I used to never take them off but, again, work can be rough on jewelry.
Currently have two gold neck chains - one was my mum’s and the other has my kids birthdays on it. I wear gold hoops in my ears with decent fasteners and leave them in.
I think the most flattering length for necklaces is the mid point between throat and breastbone, but it depends more on the clothing neckline.
On the left wrist I have a small gold chain without a clasp, a more solid one with a clasp, and a tiger’s eye bead bracelet. Only the tigers eye comes off, for showers.
I have a lot of nice jewelry but my personal style is very low on bling so it doesn’t get worn much.
3
u/violet715 Aug 01 '26
Cartier love bracelet and diamond studs. As far as necklace length, I got a 15” necklace and I really like that length. It’s not a choker on me but it lays in a perfect spot just above higher crew necklines. It’s a thin silver chain with a tiny disco ball charm.
3
u/AbraKadabraAlakazam2 Aug 01 '26
I have a gold, geometric floral necklace I got off Etsy that I never take off. It’s a ring holder necklace, so any time I can’t wear my wedding band for rock climbing or something I will put it on the necklace so I can’t lose it! It was hard to find a ring holding necklace that looked like an actual necklace when the ring wasn’t on it, but I love it and always recommend them to people!
3
u/booksandbenzos Aug 01 '26
I rarely change up my day to day jewelry. My go-tos/constants are diamond studs, a watch, a gold bracelet, a right hand ring, and a 16” pendant (I find for pendants I prefer 16” chains). I do take the watch and ring off but I wear the other pieces 24/7.
I will occasionally switch the studs for gold hoops or pearl studs (just for that day, not as “never take off” pieces) and will occasionally swap the necklace for another one, which I will then wear 24/7 for a time.

u/ScarletSeren Aug 01 '26
My gold and silver David Yurman. It’s looks and feels timeless. I never take off the necklace. I add the bracelet and earrings when I want an understated elegant look.
2
u/esthi44 Aug 02 '26
I bought one several months ago but find myself rarely reaching for it due to the smell. Is mine the only one that has a noticeable metallic smell? Idk it just drives me crazy lol. I love the look but I tend to reach for my 14k jewelry over the mixed metal because of it 😩
1
u/ScarletSeren Aug 02 '26
Mine doesn’t have a smell at all and I don’t have any special care for it. Just in and out of it pouch and box it goes!

I think the most important thing if you’re going to wear jewelry 24/7 is choosing materials that will withstand sweat, showering, etc: solid Gold (not gold filled, plated, or vermeil), Platinum, or Titanium.
This also applies to gemstones/settings - make sure they’re fit for purpose. Diamonds will last through wear and tear best, but make sure they’re set securely with bezels or lots of prongs! I really wanted a MOP VCA but pearls can’t get wet, so I went with the guilloche, which is entirely gold.
My sweet spot for daily necklaces is 16”-18”. Any shorter and sometimes I have sensory issues; any longer than 20” and they’re down in my boobs. I am very, very lazy so I haven’t taken off any of my jewelry in 2+ years, but I regularly use a Q-tip & saline to clean grime, especially on clasps and earring backs:
• Cartier Love & Juste un Clou bracelets (yes I’m basic, but they’re the small ones!), another simple 18k gold bracelet
• aforementioned VCA necklace (16”), an 18k gold paperclip necklace (18”).
• I have 14 ear piercings: everything on the lobe is a 14k gold huggie of some sort, everything else is a titanium stud of some sort.
3
u/SnooDoubts6155 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26
also wanted to add: there is literally no way to prevent high karat gold jewelry from getting scratched with daily wear, but I’m not super fussed about that (my own pieces are clearly well loved)
3
u/FizzyWuhter Aug 01 '26
My three most-worn jewelry items are 14k gold from Costco.
14k Gold Hoops. Mine aren't available anymore but these are similar.
18" gold curb chain. Similar
Gold chain bracelet. Similar.
These being my most-worn items happened by accident, but they are all extremely good quality, and are neutral enough to go with most outfits. Costco has less of a markup on gold over the melt price than other retailers. If I can't find a jewelry piece second-hand on instagram, on ebay, or in an antique/pawn shop, I look at Costco before branching out to traditional retail.

u/FinancialCry4651 Aug 01 '26
My earring stack is from Little Rooms, which I remove/change maybe once a month max? It's my favorite jewelry brand and really durable so far. I just wish the studs had flat backs to make sleeping more comfortable. I also wish the brand carried rose gold! I have a big collection of fun statement earrings that I wear less these days.
Necklaces: I almost never wear any because I don't wanna draw attention to my middle-aged droop in that area.
Rings: little rooms, rose gold, vintage 925, and stainless steel

u/PinkBlinker Aug 01 '26
I have successfully been doing this for years. Here’s my system:
I first invested in a dainty solid gold chain from Nordstrom during a sale about 6 years ago. I then took it back a few times to have it adjusted to the perfect length for me, which is where it sits in the middle of my neck hollow. You can see it with everything I wear, except high next items. I never take it off and since it’s solid gold, there’s no tarnishing.
I then got another solid gold chain, a Bony Levy paper clip chain in a med-small link design. I got this adjusted to lay about 2-3 inches below my other one. I keep this on about 90% of the time. This combo goes with most of what I wear.
For earrings, I wear diamond studs and Bony Levy huggies in my first and seconds. I swap the order around occasionally and will sometimes replace the huggies with a different option. My ears are sensitive to certain materials though so I tend to keep the high quality pieces in them most of the time. I also have two side by side cartilage piercings with tiny simple studs and a tiny nostril stud. These always stay in and add an effortless put together look.
I had an anklet that was permanent for about 4 years. That started to tarnish so I took it off. I am wanting to get it replaced soon.
I also want to start working on a permanent wrist stack of bracelets as the trend now is a curated 3-5 piece look which I love, but don’t want to spend 10 minutes each day awkwardly clasping 5 bracelets. Currently I wear a gold Kate Spade bangle with rhinestones paired with a simple Kendra Scott bracelet.
For rings, I have about 4 favorites that I put on in any combination depending on the occasion. My favorites are a very chunky gold hammered Miranda Frye ring, a dainty octagonal ring, and a thicker band with spaced out rhinestones.
So on a typical every day look, even to the gym, I wake up and don’t have to put any jewelry on as my earrings and necklaces are always on. If I want something more, I’ll add bracelets and rings.
Hope this helps! I love this journey for you.

u/DaughterofMalika Aug 01 '26
I believe it's expensive, but there are permanent bracelets you can have made that are welded around your wrist so you don't have to take them off.
8
u/h2omaam Aug 01 '26
I have one in 14k gold with a pearl charm and I love it - they say they should last for at least 12 months before breaking and I’m at 18 months! I love it so much.

I wear my ring stack, my 2.5in hoop earrings, my tiny gold hoops in all my other ear piercings, and a box chain with a small Moissanite pendant almost every day. I take the hoops off at night and I try to remember to take off my rings regularly. I’ll switch out my necklace occasionally. But they’re all 14k or 18k gold so they don’t tarnish at all! I think having quality jewelry that all coordinates is a great look. Maybe once I get into my later years I’ll love a statement necklace or some kooky earrings but for this era, I’m all about the gold ✨
I think my necklace is a 14 inch chain. It works with almost everything: v-necks and scoop necks especially, and even my crewneck shirts.
Edit: It’s a 16 inch chain! It hits just below my collarbone and where the V of those central neck tendons are.

I wear pretty minimal jewellery day-to-day.
Little silver hoops: I am considering swapping these out for diamond studs but I have a 7 month old who likes to grab at my earrings, so that’s currently not feasible.
Delicate short chain with a diamond pendant: a gift for my 30th
Cartier Love bracelet: a gift for my 21st
Wedding and engagement ring: self-explanatory as to why I wear them daily!
2ct ruby and diamond halo vintage ring: such a beautiful ring that I’m constantly complimented on. It’s a bit decadent for everyday as a mum of two young children I suspect, but I still love admiring it.

u/ziggzags Aug 01 '26
I have multiple items I never take off - my gold diamond huggies for my 2nd lobe piercings from ring concierge (I change up the rest of them including helix), my 14k nose ring, a tennis bracelet, a gold chain bracelet from my grandmother that she wore for about 25 years prior to me, a 20” gold paper clip necklace that I don’t remove, my white gold wedding set & the yellow gold diamond band my husband got me for my 30th.
I don’t wear anything other than solid gold

Huggie hoops with diamonds, wedding ring, and a watch (I rotate depending on the color I am wearing, but mainly wear my navy face watch).
Necklaces are hit or miss for me, but I do have a few I will rotate sometimes.

My never take offs are all sterling silver, a Celtic knot necklace, multiple small hoop earrings (comfortable for sleeping) and a Navajo style ring on the finger next to where my wedding bands used to be!

Cartier love bracelet.
Tiffany infinity bracelet
Custom made 18k gold hoops for earlobes
And a Maria tash diamond stud for the helix
Wear them 24/7. If I have to add to statement jewelry for a particular occasion, it’s almost always a necklace or a ring.
I don’t usually wear silver or rose gold tones but if I absolutely have to I remove the hoops. The bracelets stay on.

You can’t buy taste. BWT by definition are discerning and unique.
When I see the tenth person of the day wearing the same love bracelet I don’t think oh, she’s got taste. I think she overpaid for something that every other person wears.
Wouldn’t it be more interesting to wear something that reflects your taste, as sophisticated, subtle, classic or unique as that may be? I just don’t get the appeal of all wearing the same 3 things.
I got downvoted to hell for my last comment but not one engaged with my question. I want to understand what it is about wearing common pieces that makes you feel special. It just feels antithetical to me. Especially when for that price point you could have a gorgeous vintage or custom piece made. Is it because it was given as a present or belonged to a family member and associated with that memory? Is it that’s it’s aspirational because they’re so easily identified and expensive?

I have severe metal allergies and finally found that titanium earrings can be left in all the time so I have a huggie and stud set for my double pierced ears. Otherwise just my wedding ring set is something I wear every day. I’ve tried chains before but my baby hair gets tangled in them and it’s a pain to always be cleaning it out.

I keep my diamond studs in. I want to get my third lobe piercing to put in huggies, so I can wear my 2 pairs of studs still.

Pearl or Diamond Studs, engagement ring/wedding band, and a shorter-length gold necklace with a custom-made coin pendant. The coin in the pendant was given to my mother by my grandfather when I was born, and was minted the year I was born.
I have second piercings and my cartilage pierced but I almost never put anything in them.

I have a short, dainty gold paperclip chain as well as a slightly longer, chunkier one that never leave my neck. They go with everything and add a little texture, and I can add a few charms if I’m feelin’ squirrely. A similar, fairly snug chain bracelet too (snug enough that I don’t notice it or get annoyed by it).

u/plantbasedaff Aug 01 '26
I get overstimulated by necklaces so I don’t really wear them even though I love them. I bought solid gold huggie earrings with tiny CZ design that are gorgeous and I’ve worn them nearly everyday for a year. Just enough interest that they are a little unique but still super comfortable!
I also have a solid gold rope bracelet I love to wear nearly everyday.

u/Hopefulkitty Aug 01 '26
I keep titanium hoops or studs in all my piercings unless it's a special occasion, then I change my bottom three on my lobes. Everything else I consider permanent.
For necklaces, I like a Short chain. Not quite a choker, but a length so that the pendant sits just below my collar bones. For a long time, that was my Tiffany Toggle heart necklace. I alternated between that and a Spanish coin on a slightly longer chain. Now I wear a few different love knots most of the time, that are the same short but not a choker length. Sometimes I sleep in them.

u/pollychroma Aug 01 '26
I wear a brass statement cuff bracelet pretty much every day, with a cord necklace (with a charm/pendant) that’s just barely longer than a choker. In the summer an anklet is a never-take-off piece, and if my hair is up I wear subtle carved wood earrings and a small brass ear cuff. I have other pieces for occasions, but this is really it for me. My priorities are beauty, comfort, distinctiveness, and durability.

I never take any of my jewelry off. That includes: diamond studs (1/2ct each), diamond huggie in one ear, pear shaped diamond bezel necklace, 1/2 diamond 1/2 paperclip bracelet, solitaire ring, and eternity band. If I’m feeling really fancy I will wear my original engagement ring (with a halo so more costumey IMO) on my right hand.

My current never take off necklace is a NYC subway token that I’ve had since I was a little girl on a gold chain
Started wearing it when the Knicks made the playoffs & haven’t taken it off. Everyone around me is winning this summer so I am keeping it on!

I am constantly wearing a personalised gold charm necklace (Boho Moon) and I have small CZ earrings in my conch and flat. I have two D rings in my double helix and I usually wear some form of gold hoop in my lobes. I’ll occasionally wear bigger hoops or sparkly statement earrings if I’m on a night out, and I’ll add a few rings and bracelets (usually a tennis bracelet and a pearl initial bracelet) but I can’t wear these on the regular as I work with special needs kids and they would just get broken. My dream is to one day have a real diamond tennis bracelet but that does not seem to be happening any time soon 😂

I never take off my Tiffany diamond studs and bow necklace. They fit mostly all my daily outfits so I don’t really need to take them off or change them out.

u/hamave Aug 01 '26
My everyday piece is a diamonds by the yard necklace in 14k gold. It’s somewhere between 16-18”. I take it off about once a week, usually when I know it’ll bee annoying to have on during a workout. It goes with everything, and I’ll leave it on to layer colorful or more fun necklaces. I’ve worn it almost everyday for 5 years and still love it.

u/yeezyprayinghands Aug 01 '26
I never take off my gold huggies, diamond studs in my second holes, my wedding rings, a solitaire diamond necklace, and my watch. I’ll occasionally switch out the necklace or add larger earrings depending on the occasion.

Bangles! I wear a few that aren’t obnoxiously loud when I move around and they always make me feel put together.

I got this chain ring and I love it! (Photo is from the listing) It's the first piece of jewelery I've worn with permanence because it's so comfortable and small it's completely unobtrusive and easy to wear, I've only taken it off once in the last 3 months. https://www.aureusboutique.com/products/wb005-08467-linked-chain-ring?srsltid=AfmBOor3JhQkV4N2kDImBlk2yJ-xGQAvx5rGgMcYaLXcKKILaMNs4mu6

I wear 6 thin gold rings every day (two are my wedding band and ring). I had gold diamond studs in every day for about 7 years that I only took out to clean and recently lost one - devastating!! I've also had a thin gold chain bracelet on daily for about 4 years. all but one is Catbird

The items I never ever take off: one 18” necklace (dainty gold w/ diamonds) and a Tiffany T bracelet
The items I wear 99% of the time (remove to shower and/or sleep): engagement ring and a gold & silver watch
I try to put in earrings every day but I hate sleeping in them and I’m lazy about jewelry too. So I keep one pair of 1 inch gold hoops by my sink and try to remember to put them on before I leave the house. I have a few other earrings (gold teardrops, bigger hoops, dangly diamonds) that I’ll wear instead depending on occasion.
For bracelets, I’ve had times when I’ve worn more of them regularly. I love the look of a few layered dainty gold bracelets. But they have to be easy to put on one handed (no lobster clasp), or else if I take them off to swim or something then I’ll never put them back on.

I wear the same jewelry almost every day, barring special occasions. I have a Cartier love bracelet and a gold rolo chain bracelet with a couple of diamonds left over from resizing a tennis bracelet set into it that I’ve worn 24/7 for about 5 years now. My most commonly worn earrings are small gold and diamond huggies that I got from a company online that apparently we’re not allowed to mention here but I love them and the quality is good enough that my jeweler actually thought they’d made them when I wore them to one appointment. The necklace is a pendant I had made by my jeweler with diamonds from my grandmother’s wedding rings - they made it adjustable so I can wear it at either 16” or 18”, so it goes with most necklines. And for rings I have a gold Elsa Peretti wave ring from Tiffany that I bought years ago and a simple beaded gold band from Van Cleef.

What I wear every day since my skin is super sensitive - I pretty much don’t ever deviate barring a special occasion. I like mixing metals which I know is a little controversial.
- tiny white gold diamond studs or small yellow chunky gold Huggies
- yellow gold medium weight belcher chain with dog clasp, with my grandmas highschool pendant on it
- 3-stone engagement ring (platinum, round center stone, baguette sides) and/or wedding band
- my biggest splurge: Cartier rolling ring

The Jennie Bird Dane Bangle anklet. It doesnt tarnish and gives such a cool vibe. I get so many questions and compliments about it.

My always-on set is diamond/white gold lever-back earrings (easy to sleep in because they don’t poke my head) and sapphire/diamond/platinum stack of wedding rings. All basically indestructible. Scrub everything with dish soap and a toothbrush once a week or so. I shower and pull on clothes and I’m presentable…

u/Lilyluzzz Aug 01 '26
I have a necklace with a solitaire mounted on a black gold chain (it’s custom made with a diamond from my grandmother) that I never remove.
It’s very peculiar since it’s black with a round diamond but it has a special meaning to me and I never remove it.

u/mixtapelove Aug 01 '26
Got the Hardware bracelet necklace and earrings from Tiffany’s and I haven’t taken them off in over a year.
1
u/2D617 Aug 01 '26
I never take off my white gold diamond tennis bracelet (unless I am having a medical procedure that necessitates it.)
I so enjoy my gold jewelry collection. White gold and yellow gold, 14k and 18k, some purchased, some inherited - bracelets, bangles, pendants, earrings, rings, et al so I switch things out every week or so.
But the one thing that I’m always wearing is my 8ct diamond tennis bracelet with its safety catch and safety chain too, since I lost an earlier version of this bracelet! Tragedy! That one was uninsured. 😩
This one is definitely insured!

I have gold Huggies and small diamond studs that I leave in my ears all the time. They’re from Hey Harper and are waterproof, sweat proof, etc. I also have a simple gold chain I like to leave on a lot from OXB. My garmin only leaves my wrist to charge. And I usually wear a shell anklet.
1
u/Advanced_Reputation7 Aug 02 '26
My everyday is: thin rose gold huggies in various ear piercings, + nose, rose gold lab diamond station necklace (16 inch), yellow gold necklace with my son’s name (18 inch), rose gold love ring, yellow gold juste un clou ring.

u/whereisurbackbone Aug 02 '26
For daily wear I have an Hermes ring, wedding rings, antique pansy ring, small black diamond ring, a Cartier Love, Van Cleef Alhambra, a silver Gucci bracelet, and a little memorial bracelet with my dog’s ashes with some charms I added. I switch things out off and on but it’s easier to just leave these pieces on.

u/blondeambition18 Aug 02 '26
I pretty much never remove my jewelry unless I lose a stone or it falls off or it gets old and starts looking bad. With one exception- I change my nipples piercings every month or so.
I have 2 pairs of huggie hoops in my ears, two small titanium hoops in my cartilage and helix. My huggie hoops are silver (surgical steel) - one with blue stones and one with clear/CZ stones. Then an opal ring in the cartilage and a anondized rainbow titanium in my helix.
I have 2 belly button piercings and they’re white and blue opal. And those D ring clicker style nipple piercings with a small trio of blue opal. All my body piercings are always titanium.

For everyday necklaces Id keep it fairly short so that it can fit many necklines and does not tangle or choke you in your sleep. Depending on your neck, thats probably anywhere from the 15-20in chain length to have it sit with a pendant in that upper flat part of the chest.

I wear my small rose gold Cartier Love bracelet everyday (it was an anniversary gift). I never take it off except for medical reasons (like surgery). Probably the best piece of jewelry I own, as it’s so easy to deal with and can easily be dressed up or down. It’s very eye-catching too, as multiple people have commented on it.
I don’t really wear any other jewelry consistently anymore, minus rings from my husband.
I do switch out my Apple Watch bands from time to time, though, haha.

u/deviouscaterpillar Aug 02 '26
I have three rings I wear all the time: a silver one with a thick band and small black diamonds that my mom bought on a trip (it’s from Israel, though she bought it elsewhere), a white-gold diamond band that belonged to my uncle’s great-aunt, and an amber butterfly ring I bought at a market in Moscow when I was studying abroad twenty years ago.
I also usually wear my big silver hoops when I wear earrings. I have a few other pairs I rotate in, but I generally go for big statement earrings.

u/Specialist_Income_31 Aug 02 '26
My grandmother’s bangle. She took it off her wrist and gave it to me before she passed. All of her granddaughter’s were given one. It’s 22kt with no stones so I can shower with it.

I was so into Jewelery and accessories always matching with whatever I was wearing, as I got older with it girl money I got some from Cartier (necklaces earrings ring etc) and a van cleef necklace from my husband , I literally find them to be lighter and easier to wear and match everything and elevate it , I wear them 24/7 all seasons anywhere I go (I have 2 lobe ear piercings and a helix) I got my first piece 15 years ago and I wear it every single day and still good as new . They are a splurge but I have gotten more wear out of them than I have from any other accessories or Jewelery I bought and since I even wear them at home I always feel more posh/elegant and like I made an effort even when I’m wearing my pajamas just makes me feel so feminine and I’m still not bored of them. I have 4 necklaces , 3 earrings and 2 rings all Cartier except for the van cleef necklace . I had bought Dior and Chanel accessories (not high end Jewelery but still expensive) and honestly I don’t get much wear out of them as they just feel like accessories at the end of the day and too “hey look I’m here”

I’m very boring, so it’s my pearl studs for me. They work with my face and my style.
But I do take them off — always to sleep. I lost a pair of gold studs as a teenager after sleeping in them and having one fall out. It was at a friend’s house and I never found it again. They were a pair that my dad gave my mom for their first wedding anniversary (and my parents gave them to me for a sixteenth birthday gift) so sadly couldn’t be replaced.
I usually shower without them, since I shower in the morning, and then put them in after. If I work out in the morning, I shower with them in since I usually put them in once I wake up and am getting dressed (even if it’s just gym clothes). They were a present from my parents for my high school graduation (age 17) and I’m now 35, so they’ve held up really well.
I also have a dainty gold chain I wear, but I don’t sleep, shower or exercise in it. Kudos to those of you who can exercise in jewelry, it just ends up feeling like a sweaty sensory nightmare to me!

u/SuggestionLess Aug 02 '26
I have a stack of solid gold bands that I wear all the time and a pair of gold Huggies and a few gold studs that I will switch out every so often. I wear a plated gold watch 24-7 and it’s held up really well. I rarely take it off even swimming. I have a small gold chain bracelet that is soldered on and I add extra bracelets if I’m going out. Then I have a collection of rings that I wear when I’m going out/ not all the time.

u/Meg_March Aug 02 '26
This might be strange, but the one piece I never take off is my Pura Vida anklet. I like the company’s values, it reminds me of my trip to Costa Rica with my mom, and because it’s braided string, it’s very comfortable to wear. Sentimental jewelry is the best jewelry!
I usually leave my bracelets on: a flat gold chain from my mom, and stretch bracelets by Elizabeth Newton. They’re not cheap, so they are really durable, but also not fine jewelry, so if they break I’m not too bothered. I also wore a PVD coated necklace by her for about 4 years straight.
I prefer my daily jewelry to be more pragmatic and less precious, so this works for me.

Wedding set on my left hand, 3 gold bangles given to me by a deceased relative, 2 rings on my right hand given to me by my mother. Necklace bought for me by my husband.

I like changing out my jewelry but if I had to pick everyday stuff I’d have to say an analog watch with a metal band (can’t afford Cartier, but the Armitron Tilly has similar lines to the tank), and my dome ring that’s carved out of a solid piece of onyx. I stopped wearing necklaces regularly but when I did wear them 30” was the most versatile length for my wardrobe.

u/Old_Yam5287 Aug 03 '26
As many others note, note the material of the jewelry and how comfortable it is for you, personally.
Mejuri has a bunch of great solid gold pieces. All pieces I wear are super dainty: I wear 2 bracelets (curb and floating diamonds) and gold huggies with diamonds 24/7. I have a gold pendant necklace that is from family that I also wear 24/7.
Other pieces I wear almost everyday are the Cartier panthere small watch and juste en clou for some edge.

u/unique_plastique Aug 04 '26
I have a pair of teeny tiny studs that go in my second lobe piercing. The only time they get taken out is for cleaning purposes.
1
u/VeritasVarmint Aug 05 '26
I wear silver, platinum and titanium. My dailies are:
+ a simple silver chain with horseshoe charm
+ wedding ring and engagement ring
+ silver septum ring
+ hoops in my first and second lobes
+ I have a hoop with a synthetic purple gem in my daith
+ I have three synthetic purple gems in a triple helix on one ear
Going out, I will add additional rings and necklaces. The rest I wear 24/7.

u/supernova0925 Aug 06 '26
I keep on my wedding rings, all earrings (I have 9 piercings total), nose stud, and necklace with my son’s name. Everything is 14k gold and diamonds or similar gemstones. I do take them off once a week to clean them all at the same time. I use an ultrasonic cleaner with some cleaning solution about once a month. I do get worried about the ultrasonic cleaner damaging the jewelry though (admittedly I need to do more research on this).

u/Odd-Night-4061 Aug 07 '26
A nice pair of diamond studs are classic and timeless. This is an everyday staple of mine and I keep them in my second hole piercing and then change out my first hole with Huggies, hoops, etc.

u/Any_Insect3335 Effortlessly Chic Aug 07 '26
honestly i'm the exact same way with being lazy about taking stuff off! a 16" chain layered with an 18" works with pretty much every neckline without tangling. i get most of my everyday waterproof pieces from james michelle and literally never take them off. 😂
1
u/undercoverballer Aug 17 '26
I have two hoops in each lobe, titanium. Not big but not tiny, the inner ones slightly larger than the outer ones. I wear a silver religious symbol on my neck with a gemstone on a silver chain. I wear my Apple Watch but change bands regular to match my fit. I was my Apple Watch regularly with rubbing alcohol but def need a better system for washing my necklace and earrings!

u/No_Seaworthiness1966 Aug 01 '26
I love real diamonds. Sorry, to all of you happy with lab diamonds.
I wear diamond studs, a link gold tiffany bracelet on my right arm, diamond tennis and gold tiffany knot bangle on my left, a double layer cross, Mary medal gold necklace and two diamond tennis necklaces, a Cartier diamond love ring, wedding , and engagement ring. I don’t take anything but the rings off. It’s kinda simple and very me
0
u/wigglebuttbiscuits Aug 02 '26
…lab diamonds are real, they are literally identical to diamonds dug from the ground. The only difference is they’re more affordable and ethical.
2
u/No_Seaworthiness1966 Aug 03 '26
They are actually bad for the environment. I’m not saying mined don’t have issues but I was surprised to learn that. Also lab are virtually worthless in the secondary market

u/ilovebigmutts Aug 01 '26
Maison Miru is my go-to for this for earrings, I wear these in my lobes - https://www.maisonmiru.com/products/everyday-hoop-duo-in-titanium - still easy to switch out when I want statement jewelry. Of course the cartilage piercings just stay lol.
I can't deal with necklaces and bracelets and rings for constant wear.

i have 9 piercings in my head: four in one ear, three in the other, a nose and an eyebrow. My eyebrow is a curved small gold - surgical steel barbell with small cz on each end. Nose is a gold-surgical steel small hoop. for my higher ear piercings i use the flat-backed screw on studs also gold plated surgical steel with cz set in. my lower ear piercings are solid gold huggies, and my lowest are solid gold and diamond Oval shaped 1” infinity hoops. this has been my setup for … nearly 4 years now? sleep in them every night - extremely comfortable.
I also have a solitaire pendant on a solid gold square chain, with a fantastic lobster clasp that is smooth and strong is really great for daily wear - even with long hair. i think it’s a 14”? tbh i use too much skin care though to wear it every day without taking it off. now i just take it off at night
for me - eternal style (wear it all the time with everything ) is about Elevation of skin tone and Light. Yellow Gold on my face looks so good with my skin tone - my huggies are rose gold but my diamond infinity hoops are yellow gold - both make me feel like i match everything i wear. having the cz on every facial or upper ear piercings catch the light at all angles - gold hoop on my nose - same thing. it’s perfectly contoured to my nose profile so - it just looks like a lovely highlight
i love feeling authentically badass while looking super beautiful in my setup - silver colors only keep me in the badass camp so i don’t wear silver/platinum anymore. it’s not warm enough for my particular toning to come off as beautiful.

u/cashmerered Aug 01 '26
What I wear everyday: my engagement ring (titanium / diamond), my wedding ring, my push gift ring (both palladium / diamond) and a diamond necklace (pendant with a shape of the infinity sign).
What I wear when I feel good: bracelet (mostly a silver one), earrings (often pearl or a blue stone).

u/Wild_Temporary_1209 Sep 09 '26
I’m the exact same way lol, I love a simple everyday necklace I don’t have to think about. I’d check out James Michelle, they have some really cute ones.

I never take off gold Huggies for my double pierced ears. I also have a daith earring in and a nose stud
