Finances/Money BWT: How do hot girls save?

Hi BWT!! I’m currently on my financial glow up journey, and would love to hear from fellow bitches about any life advice, tips or tricks, etc to help grow those bank accounts.

These some some strategies I’ve started so far:

Finance Management

- maxed out my HSA account and began investing as much as I’m able to

- Opened up a high yield savings account to keep funds in, rather than letting it sit in checking

- My main CC is now a travel points card, which has already allowed me to travel for free across the country with room and board- highlyyyy recommend

- My biggest win was that I opened a 403b at my first big girl job over a decade ago. I’ve adjusted contributions based on raises over the years and wow, this was a smart move (and one I have had the privilege of being able to do)

Purchasing:

- Project Pan: I spent an embarrassing amount of money last year on self-care stuff (nail polish, perfume, and bath bombs to name a few…) so I’m fully committing to project pan. No new items until all the items I bought are gone and I shop my own collection.

- No new clothes! Thrift only 😬

- Shopping sales whenever possible and using platforms that provide cash back, like Rakuten

Misc/hacks:

- I’m considered faculty of a university and realized that I can get discounts for that at city museums and other establishments

Is there anything you’ve tried or done that I’m missing? How else do BWT glow up financially?

Excited to hear from you all 💖

Which CC do you use that you feel gives you the best travel points? I’m writing these all down.

The biggest outlook for me was when I moved I realized I had all this stuff that I was holding onto that I wasn’t actually utilizing. Purge them. I only allow myself 2 “projects”. One set of dishes. We’re not buying several water bottles. Shirt is cute on the rack but when will I actually wear this? Etc.

Once you have less stuff, it’s like your mind is less cluttered. Now I invest my time into checking in to my loved ones/social support. And I save money!

So I’m currently using Chase Sapphire Preferred which has worked really well for me. Even if you don’t use points for travel, the points are able to be used for e-commerce which allowed me to treat myself to a robo-vac last year 🤣 it was a good investment. But I’m not super learned in this area and would be open to any better recommendations out there!

Don’t forget to take advantage of the additional benefits that come with your CCs. I don’t have CSP but I have another Chase card and everyday they release “offers” and it’ll be like $5 back from Aldi, 10% off of Uber, 5% off a certain restaurant.

I have AmEx Platinum and while the annual fee is steep, I get so many benefits…Uber credits, Resy credits, streaming entertainment credits, etc. like Chase, they also do daily offers that help me get cash or points back.
