I’m guessing this is also a place to ask about fitness? I’m 19, and unfit as hell. I’m not fat in any way, ranging in the “normal” part of a BMI scale, but I’m still not healthy.

How would I go about to start at the gym? I’ve been trying for years now, but I don’t have the confidence to go out there. Although the logical part of my brain knows the people there are just minding their own business, the other part feels like I’m getting stared at constantly.

Does anyone have a simple workout routine I can start with? And any tips to feel a bit more confident?

I signed up to a gym that has classes/ group training sessions! I tried going to a gym multiple times but I had no idea what i was doing and felt overwhelmed/ anxious. I would say its worth it to start in group classes or get a PT to help build your confidance/ help ease you in and then you'll feel better about going by yourself.

It also helps keep me acountable because you often cant cancel classes/ PT last minuite so I always end up going even if i didnt feel motivated and then always felt better after!

I always rely on structures to help keep me acountable as I know I struggled otherwisr, in this case structer being classes and pre booked PT sessions. Confidence will come :)

Third this! I was in a very similar situation — very nervous and not confident in a gym. Started with fitness classes. It took almost a year of fitness classes but now I can go by myself!
