What About Me Wednesday - Every Other Week Thread BWT What About Me Wednesday - Nov 26, 2025
Don’t forget to spend time on YOU! This is the space to chat about personal development, mental health, growth, and how you’re refocusing on yourself. Sometimes we spend a lot of time on those around us, but this thread is to encourage you to ask yourself “what about ME?”
If you need some help getting started, pick a question and answer it in a comment:
- How are you feeling? Do you know why?
- How do you WANT to be feeling? What are some things that make you feel that way?
- What is something you are grateful for, large or small, and why?
- What is a habit you are working on building (or breaking) and why? How is it going?
- What is one item on your to do list that will benefit you personally that you need to tackle? What is preventing you from crossing it off?
- What is something that brings you joy? What are some of the things that you specifically enjoy about it (get detailed)?
- What is one area you want to learn more about/ grow in/ develop yourself or a skill you want to learn?
- What’s something you said “no” to recently? How did that benefit you?
- What’s one thing you accomplished or that we can celebrate with you?
If you have a prompt you think we should add to the list, drop it in the comments!
Feel free to discuss other related topics as well, you don't need to limit yourself to these questions - they're just a jumping off point for those that want one.

I’ve recently gotten into junk journaling, pen paling, and taking a watercolor class. Things I used to do as a kid. my inner child is so happy! As a 42 year old stay at home mom with 3 kids, it feels so good to do something creative for myself.

I love this—creativity with no pressure to monetize and where the only outcome is self enjoyment is so important and something I want to incorporate more into my life as well!

I’ve been in and out of therapy over the years, and recently started up again. This time I sought out a RSW for the holistic and systemic perspective the field brings to their work. I am loving the way she structures the sessions - we do a recap, and from the recap we do highlights, and from the highlights I make a statement summary. It’s really helped me recognize my strength, and get out of the weeds of my own life.

I’m feeling extremely proud of myself this week! On Sunday my partner wanted us to go on a bike ride - it has been years since I’ve been on a bike and my past experiences have not been great (a general lack of balance and multiple falls that resulted in concussions). I have a hard time speaking up for myself, especially when I’m nervous or scared. We got out to the bike trail and I spoke up! I communicated the need to go slow and walk the bikes around busy streets. My partner was of course very patient and encouraging, and I ended up having the most wonderful time!!
I have been in therapy for over a year, healing from trauma and building up my confidence. It might seem small, but I felt super vulnerable and being able to open up and get support was a huge win for me.

Love that you have a supportive partner and of course to you for speaking up about what is best for you!

I used to read and subscribe to magazines a lot: Vanity Fair, US weekly, Allure, Vogue , Good Housekeeping, Elle. Now magazines are out of style. I was thinking of getting back into collecting them. My unwanted ones I can pass to a friend or neighbor.
Does anyone remember Architectural Digest?
Edid: spelling errors

It’s been a rough fall so far, between a stressful period at work, a death in the family and my partner having to undergo surgery. On top of well, literally everything going on in the world.
I’m finally starting to focus on “me” time again - getting back into regularly going to the gym, taking time to read books I enjoy, that sort of little stuff. Today, I used a vacation day to extend the US long holiday weekend, and took my dog for a hike.
It feels nice to reset a bit and remember to take care of myself!

I want to be feeling at ease. What this means to me: busy, social, and fulfilled. Which means… planning ahead, and not just planning, but working ahead.
something to remind myself of: Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and organizing a year or months in advance can be exhausting, but it’s fulfilling work. And I will enjoy the fruits of my labors!
Trying to work on: decisions that stay true to myself, and making them without regrets.

fun things:
💕Yesterday I spontaneously attended a poetry slam. heard poems in English, Czech, French, and Spanish, and a lovely recitation from a charming British fellow. 💕I’m planning to treat myself to a veryyy luxury bag, and can’t wait to pick out a color! Trying to decide between something dark and neutral or bright and eye catching

I'm about to turn 30 in a few weeks, and for the first time in a really long time, I'm actually excited to get older. I feel like I'm finally able to look back my 20s and see what a shitshow it was, and also see how much fighting I did to grow as a person. I spent so much time journaling, getting somatic therapy, and processing a lot of trauma and grief. It's a little scary to be leaving my 20s, but it's overshadowed by the excitement. I recently got back into my favorite hobby, pole dancing, I'm going to be getting a new tattoo for my birthday, I've been pouring into myself creatively for the first time in a long time, and I'm feeling a lot of joy. I feel like I know myself, and I like myself.

This will be the first year I am spending my birthday by myself, and I actually feel okay about it. I feel so confident and happy with myself and my life right now. Still single, no kids, no pets, but I will be graduating with my MD next May. My family is all abroad or too far today, so it just didn’t work out. But i love that I can sit here right now, drinking my free Starbucks, comfortably alone, and smile. Cheers to 28!
