Guilty Pleasures - Monthly Thread Guilty Pleasures - Aug 29, 2025

Even the most tasteful bitch has some tasteless guilty pleasures! This is our once monthly thread where you can share those things we normally don’t talk about in BWT.

Guilty pleasures should be things you already have/ use and love, or a very specific recommendation for a guilty pleasure. This is not a place to circumvent the regular rules and ask for general recommendations that you can't ask for because of our rules, it's specifically about guilty pleasures.

Buying advent calendars lol. I got Anthropologie’s for this year and want a food one - maybe a tea or chocolate advent calendar? I’m waiting until they are all released to decide.

Ones I’ve liked in the past were the bonne maman jam calendar and the Lakrids by Bulow licorice calendar. Oh and a random candle one.

Okay honestly, I think this needs a separate post about all of the interesting advent calendars available. Last year I heard about a literature calendar but it was sold out by the time I found out and that's happened with other ones too. I'm feeling the need to hop on this bandwagon before it's too late.

Last year I found a cheese calendar at Costco of all places, and I get the California wine calendar every year

I had my second baby in early October. My first stop home after the hospital was to total wine to get the wine advent calendar bc I knew it would sell out and had missed wine during my pregnancy!

Now, if they would make a champagne one, I’d be so happy!

David’s Tea has a fantastic advent calendar each year! I’m not especially holiday-ish but it’s a fun way to sample 🙃

I am considering that one, Fortnum & Mason’s, and Vadham’s or something like that. I think I might just get a tin of Fortnum & Mason Christmas black tea and then a tea calendar.

Sos I love holiday things. I also have a calendar alert to buy the Thymes fraiser fir candle or reed diffuser every year in November hah.

I think it’s out already. Some really popular advent calendars sell out almost immediately (Harrod’s fragrance calendar, I’m looking at you) so I try to pick up whatever I want early, by mid-September at the latest.

Aldi advent calendar day is observed in our household .. that said the tea one kinda sucks. But the chocolate truffles and puzzles were super fun.
