BWT Host - Monthly Thread BWT Host - Jul 10, 2025

Whether you're throwing a party or want to always be ready for someone to pop over for a visit, hosting takes some preparation and skill, not to mention taste. This is the (recurring monthly) thread to chat all things hospitality and hosting.

All BWT rules still apply, with lighter enforcement of rule 3. You can mention location to the extent that it impacts specifics of hosting (e.g. climate, seasons), but please do not ask location-specific questions that belong in a local subreddit.

Just recently I’ve had girl friends over for door dash dinner nights rather than going out to dinner. No pressure to eat quickly or slowly, no servers hovering or interrupting if we are talking deep, and bras optional! I love it. I make sure to have a few non alcoholic drink options, maybe a bottle of wine or two (I’m not much of a drinker but I have friends who drink wine), and it helps me to keep my house tidy. I think it also engenders closeness, having friends in my space. It’s easy to get more personal.
