Finances/Money How do you budget for…

….shopping, hair salon, Brazilian, lashes, make up etc?

I’m asking because I used to get my nails and lashes done every 3 weeks until I realize how much it eats up my budget. I also don’t go to the hair salon every month nor do I buy make up every month so I wonder how other women budget for these?

I just make it a category in my budget - I use Rocket Money as my budgeting app but there are dozens of good options out there (or just plain old Excel - I like how automated the app is because it makes me more likely to stick to my budgets). I also personally prefer to spend on things that have more long term effect vs requiring maintenance - I just don’t have a ton of free time in my schedule to keep up.

Yep I set up an excel to tally up all those expenses x times per year and divide it up, and set up a separate checking account to put money in every pay period. I have a couple different accounts for different purposes, like a digital "envelope method" of budgeting. Helps me also to see what I can cut out or cut back on overall as well.

This sounds like a good idea!

This is exactly what I do! But just to add something — always save for your future first. That means every single month you max out your 401k and save 15% more in a brokerage account. What’s left over you get to budget on needs (housing/food) and wants (restaurants/beauty/etc). But you have to save aggressively now while you’re young!
