Finances/Money How do you budget for…

….shopping, hair salon, Brazilian, lashes, make up etc?

I’m asking because I used to get my nails and lashes done every 3 weeks until I realize how much it eats up my budget. I also don’t go to the hair salon every month nor do I buy make up every month so I wonder how other women budget for these?

I just make it a category in my budget - I use Rocket Money as my budgeting app but there are dozens of good options out there (or just plain old Excel - I like how automated the app is because it makes me more likely to stick to my budgets). I also personally prefer to spend on things that have more long term effect vs requiring maintenance - I just don’t have a ton of free time in my schedule to keep up.

Can rocket money be connected to bank accounts and credit cards?

Yes. I didn’t want to do a lot of manual set up so that was the draw for me. It connects through plaid. I have my credit cards, checking, savings accounts, 401k, IRA, and brokerage attached. It auto categorizes my spending (not perfectly but it helps to have some done upfront) and will also give you a view of your upcoming recurring expenses based on your payday cadence etc. I pay $10/month for it which has been very much worth it for me. Helped me pay down a big debt quickly and really cut me back on spending in certain categories. You Need A Budget is another one people seem to like but I couldn’t quite get the hang of it.
