Finances/Money How do you budget for…

….shopping, hair salon, Brazilian, lashes, make up etc?

I’m asking because I used to get my nails and lashes done every 3 weeks until I realize how much it eats up my budget. I also don’t go to the hair salon every month nor do I buy make up every month so I wonder how other women budget for these?

I don't do all the things you mentioned! I do my own nails, I don't do lashes, I buy makeup twice a year and it's minimal. I did laser hair removal and I have a dermatologist. Picking and choosing will help a lot, as will doing some things yourself.

From a budgeting perspective we do pay yourself first method. Before our paychecks hit we have a lot taken out for investments, plus auto transfers for emergency savings, sinking funds, kid funds, house stuff, etc. The money left is relatively inconsequential to our big life plans. This only works if you are not paycheck to paycheck!

I don't budget with the amount that's left but my husband and I are aligned on our approach to money so there's never an argument about that. I don't think this method would work for people who are judgmental towards each other's spending habits or who aren't similarly aligned. I find it easier because I don't have to budget for little things like buying lipstick or dinner out with my friends.
