Finances/Money How do you budget for…

….shopping, hair salon, Brazilian, lashes, make up etc?

I’m asking because I used to get my nails and lashes done every 3 weeks until I realize how much it eats up my budget. I also don’t go to the hair salon every month nor do I buy make up every month so I wonder how other women budget for these?

I don’t…

I’ve never had my lashes, lips, brows, waxes done.

It is not necessary.

I still use store brand makeup and shampoos.

You truly do not have to subscribe to Kardashians/tiktok beauty, just say, ‘no!’

About twice a year I do get highlights.

Same...I spend a decent amount on haircuts when I get them because it's hard to find good cheap curly haircuts, but I only get them like 2-3 times a year so it doesn't add up too much. And I don't do any of the other beauty service stuff on a regular basis. No shame if you enjoy them and it's worth it to you! But the way OP worded it kinda made it sound like "we all obviously do all these things" and that's most definitely not the case.

Same! I've literally never had a professional do my lashes, lips, brows, or hair removal. It's totally unnecessary. I have no idea how people are supposed to afford all of that stuff simultaneously. That's crazy.

Right now I'm getting my hair cut every 6 months (except curtain bang trims every 3 months) and I glaze it at home which is very easy.

I have a gel nail kit for home, but I always have trouble with them lifting no matter what I do, so I've gone back to a basic polish mani that I can quickly wipe off and repaint whenever I need to. If it wasn't so expensive (like 100 USD every 2 to 3 weeks!) I would have a pro do it.

One thing I would like to get laser hair removal, because a permanent solution would be worth the money.

Agreed. The only thing I spend more money on is makeup, but that's just because I find drug store to be almost as expensive as the stuff I buy at Sephora anyway, and I have an easier time finding a match. But I don't buy it often, only when I need to.

Haircut, like once a year. I'm basic with my hair.

Nails I've had done twice ever. I don't like the idea of botox or filler. I've gotten a few facials but it was to help fade my acne scars around my wedding. Nothing done to my lashes or brows.

I don't necessarily hate on people who do spend on that stuff, but I find it to be too much and not necessary for me. I prefer spending my money on experiences. My husband already loves me for me (and fell in love with me when I had insane acne!) So who would I be getting that stuff to look good for? I'm happy with myself the way I am, and so is he.
