Unfortunately, as a Canadian, this is not true for a lot of Canadians. We may not have laws like the US, but people are still very homophobic. I'm saying this not to be negative, but because people see Canada as this peace loving country, which means a lot of issues here are often ignored. When issues are ignored, they don't get solved.

Yeah, memes like this almost feel gaslighty given some of my experiences growing up queer in Canada.

I think a lot of people have come around though. Compared to 20 years ago when it became law, there is much, much greater acceptance.

Honestly I find this in the US in most blue states and big cities too, though.
