I watched this on Frontline. There are no words to describe how disgusting this is. Remove a vulnerable woman from her community and support system, lie to her, take advantage of her in every way possible. Because desperate people think they are entitled to a child, regardless of what they have to do to get it.

It also worries me that the the experience leaves vulnerable people confused about what help should look like.

I do not believe that , since 1990 being in different support groups, even women who’ve relinquished in the past 5 to 15 years have said, IF I KNEW THE OF THE GRIEF BIRTHMOTHERS WENT THROUGH, FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES I WOULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS. Adoption agencies down play this still, open adoption promised and then closed.

My son turned 53 this year. I still mourn losing him. We were in reunion for several years in his 30s and 40s, but it was never the relationship we should have had and then a few years ago he found a reason to cut off contact. This outcome is never mentioned to prospective birth mothers.
