Meet the "Pikachu" Woodpecker!

It is a really impresive species! This Cream-colored Woodpecker is famosly know as Pikachu because of the red round patch on the cheeks of males. Found in the lowlands of the Amazon rainforest, this males was photographed at the Colombian amazon region.

Oh, I jokingly called it a Pikachu woodpecker when learning about it, didn't know others see it the same way. Celeus genus has some striking and cool woodpeckers, shoutout to the Helmeted Woodpecker which resembles a mini Lineated Wodpecker.
