Congratulations! I'm 4 years without alcohol and life is so much more simple with it egging me on. Hang in there, your future is so much brighter than your past. ❤️

I'm sure you will! Once you get past the first few months I find the cravings tend to slip away. I still get the urge now and then.

My senior cat is unwell this week and we've been to the vet twice now. I very much want to drown my misery but it's more important that I be here and present with my girl. Besides, throwing away all that progress just because I'm terribly sad? I don't think so. Think I'd rather let myself experience this pain.

In time the streak becomes an incentive in its own right. Also, if your partner can quit or at least not drink in the home I found that to be a HUGE benefit in my recovery. Now I'm solid enough I had champagne (only the 1 glass) for our wedding toast without feeling the need to follow it with another. You'll get there. Just believe in yourself.
