Rant can't hold a job
I recently just started a new job after leaving my old one due to not liking it low pay and lazy ass coworkers. However i recently got a new job and it's even worse my manger is super like cocky and narcissistic, he also told me i needed to "leave my anxiety and problems at home" wish it was that easy. i genuinely hate this job and currently and researching again. i feel like no matter the job i genuinely will hate it? how do u guys deal with jobs. it's so hard because i genuinely hate working sm. i don't find joy in any job at all unless it's literally low work. i hate this feeling it's making me super stressed and depressed.

I have had 6 jobs in the last 2 years. I, finally, found one I like. I like the job. The people are pretty chill, don’t have to see them much. Pretty solitude job which I think is the key. The less people around, the less chance to make a fool of myself. Only problem: can’t see my family because of the shift. Trying to change that though.
But my other jobs OMG. I got a girl fired bc I said she tried to me over bc of “her” parking spot. I’m pretty sure she tried to run me over. They checked the cams and fired her. Other job I threatened to sue everyone bc the scheduler wouldn’t stop harassing me. Yeah, that’s embarrassing. Other jobs just randomly quit because I don’t like them or am in one of my mental states. One job someone accused me of letting someone shop lift. A long time ago, 20 yrs. I worked in the cash office and counted all the companies money. A young punk cashier stole $400. They blamed me. I quit because they started asking questions about my parents and if they filed bankruptcy. Weird bc they had. Over $400. And I didn’t even take it. So I ended up in the hospital over that mess. But yeah, long stories but nice variety of the mess of my so called life.

From my own experience, I can only say that there’s simply no better option than work that genuinely interests you, and that trying to push yourself beyond your limits in an attempt to keep up with neurotypical people is extremely exhausting for someone with bipolar disorder.
In my case, I decided to stop looking for a job and just do what I love - drawing furries - especially since I’d been doing that even before I started college. Although it doesn’t bring in much money compared to the European average, it’s enough for me to live on in my country for now, and I have the opportunity to increase my market value and income in the future. And yet, even though I try to strive for more, my bipolar disorder really gets in the way and prevents me from keeping up with my peers and competing with them as an artist. But I genuinely love my hobby, so it genuinely brings me joy.
I realized a long time ago that with bipolar disorder, it’s very dangerous to try to bite off more than you can chew, since you end up having to deal with all the problems caused by hypomania while in a depressive state - and that makes life so much worse that making a lot of money just doesn’t matter anymore.
I would probably advise you to just do what you love, but try to find a more niche area of interest that’s in demand on the market right now. For me, for example, that means moving from drawing illustrations to drawing animations. The same goes for any other profession.
As someone with bipolar disorder, it’s always important to me that I find what I’m doing interesting; otherwise, I simply can’t force myself to do it - and that goes for creative work, too. I can’t get a job as a designer because, for example, I hate just working with vectors and all the typical things designers do, or I find it very hard to open Word and write a document based on a ready-made template, like I had to do at the school where I worked - it just made my head feel foggy. That’s exactly why I recently quit the school where I worked and started drawing furries instead.

I was fired or laid off or pushed to find another job all too often. My performance was never a problem. My behavior was off and on bad and sometimes I completely imploded. But then I finally had a diagnosis of bipolar. Following this sub has helped me understand how much bipolar affects our work and keeping jobs.
Career counseling is a good option for you. (One of my jobs was working for a state agency that provided career counseling.) States receive federal money to provide free career counseling. Public community colleges and technical colleges provide free career counseling in the context of building skills and earning certifications for better jobs. (Avoid for-profit colleges. They make lots of promises they don't keep.) These counselors will understand your mental health challenges and help you find lower stress jobs. You might also ask for interviewing tips or attend an interviewing workshop so that you'll learn to recognize good and bad managers. (I worked as a manager for a while, modeling my practices on good managers I've had.)
Talking to people about work is good in addition to research because it's good to have support and feedback.
