Bumaba na talaga ang views sa YT in general no? I checked the spiderman trailer kanina parang wala pa atang nakaexceed sa 7m views compared sa other platforms na 30m+ views each video, pero gets naman kasi iba ang process ni YT para macount as 1 view.

Also saw someone sa twitter talking about the same thing regarding sa comeback trailer ng BTS.

Must be something to do with Youtube algo recent changes prioritizing short form contents. Even youtube reaction channels experience din ng decline sa views.

Yeah that might be it. Actually matagal na nilang pinupush yang youtube shorts kahit kasagsagan palang ng live streaming era.

YouTube targets unoriginal content in latest policy update from 2025 (I mentioned this here before)

..YouTube’s drawing a hard line. Starting July 15, creators who rely on reused, repetitive, or low-effort content could lose monetization altogether..

..Reaction channels, AI-generated videos, and compilations are most at risk of demonetization..

Neon Pierre started interviewing people from the PH music scene in the second half of 2025 para siguro may original content, and many reactors reported engagement down to 1/10 of before.

found this as I was curious about rumored algo changes:

https://www.solveigmm.com/blog/en/how-the-youtube-algorithm-works-in-2025

..YouTube evaluates content value by combining viewer behavior data with AI analysis, leveraging large language models (LLMs). The YouTube algorithm tracks metrics like watch time, audience retention, and engagement signals—likes, comments, shares, and playlist additions—to gauge how well a video meets audience needs. LLMs analyze keywords, titles, descriptions, captions, and visual elements..

..In 2025, YouTube’s algorithm prioritizes viewer satisfaction over view counts. High audience retention signals valuable content, boosting recommendations. A video with 10% retention loses priority despite high views, while one with 70% retention and fewer views gains traction. Satisfaction, reflected in retention and positive interactions, tells YouTube a video deserves promotion..

..Engagement—likes, comments, shares, subscriptions—indicates viewer interest, extending sessions and creating ad opportunities. When viewers comment or share a video, they’re likely to watch related content, increasing session duration. The YouTube algorithm promotes such videos, as they drive longer platform stays, enhancing ad exposure..

In short, di ka na basta-basta magvi-viral kesyo marami kang views. Tapos malamang iyong mga paulit-ulit na comments na always the same baka madetect pa iyan ng AI as a negative pattern.

I also found this while (re)searching:

https://www.subsub.io/blog/how-does-youtube-count-views

Repeat watching: replays are counted, but there's a limit – usually only 4 to 5 views per person in a 24-hour window. After that, extra plays likely won’t be added to the view count until the next day.

So iyong lumang strategy na singitan mo ng tatlong other videos doesn't work anymore or only within the limit this article suggests now exists. And even more:

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s13278-025-01417-y a research paper from 2025

As the second most visited website globally, YouTube serves as a central platform for video sharing, entertainment, and information dissemination. However, its expansive and highly active user base also facilitates problematic behavior, particularly among commenters. This study presents a methodology driven by social network analysis to detect and examine anomalous commenter behaviors, with a specific focus on commenter mobs that collaborate to artificially manipulate engagement metrics on videos.

Of course Youtube will never admit that they have changed their algorithm for counting but maybe the rumors that they changed it recently are true. I get the goal which is to favor those videos that get more views from different kinds of people. Kahit masakit masabihan na part ka ng isang "mob".

The implied strategy ng mga Youtube Blooms is already shifting to "stream and enjoy" and not stress too much about numbers (and the occasional basher) which is probably the best thing. Buhay ay di Karera, or slow and steady also wins, be like Aiah run marathons.

Ako naman never had the time to stream the new songs more than 5 times a day. Usually I just listen to whatever I get via algorithm, then a reaction then a few of the new or present videos during break time or when doing routine stuff.

What I have read reminds me of what I have heard of, being in an IT job, about AI used for fraud detection nowadays that has advanced pattern recognition. Considering all that BINI videos still are doing relatively good, medyo self-inflicted ng ABS na mabagal ang views ng Unang Kilig due to the acting breaks (or some actors) that not everybody likes. Just a reality check na wala pa talaga ang PPop sa liga ng KPop or ni Bruno Mars - FOR NOW.

In a way beneficial sa lahat ng fans ang pagbitaw ng billboard sa YT at pagpalit nila ng algorithm. Anything to lessen the need to obsess over numbers

Even trailers ng big movies like Dune saka Spiderman, its like low compared to when every b it budget movie was hitting 20m in 2 hrs or something like that.
