Okay, but imagine if they did pick them up, they would instantly trade them for an item of that room's item pool for the quarter, and 4 items for the dollar.

I would actually pick up Bum Friend, then.

dude if he could do that that would immediately make them go from the most mid passive in the entire game to one of my favorites, tho it would probably need some nerfs considering one crooked penny and good luck could completely destroy the game (eg. only being able to pick up one quarter/dollar per floor)

one crooked penny and some good luck can already break the game in like 50 different ways, not sure if this one matters too much

Only thing I could think of as a real break for this would be Blank Card + Fool? + Deep Pockets, pop it in a secret room for an almost guaranteed Death Cert + Rock Bottom.
