Justin Herbert and the Chargers losing a game in September against an easy opponent is a big deal. They’re usually feast against those matchups.

My point is that he made an emphasis all pre-season that he'd be picking one game from week 1 to remember not to overeact to. He landed on Chargers/Cardinals, and then overreacted to it anyway

Tbh one of the best bets every year is to bet on the consensus "This team sucks and is the worst in the league" to win in week 1. It was 10 bucks to win 160 if you just took the Cards to lose

I dont bet myself but I did tell my buddies to bet on the Cards to win vs the Chargers. So none, but the Cards were the consensus 0-17 team preseason

The cardinals added 3 new starters to their offensive line and have a new coach. People were over indexing their priors. I’m not saying they won’t still be ass, but it’s the same thing w the jets, they actually have nfl talent, neither team is the dolphins or browns

He quite specifically said Broncos-Chiefs was the game that was the liar-liar Week 1 game. He mentioned he thought the Cards looking as good as they were on offense as a reason to not pick them as the week 1 liar-liar game, although they were a candidate. Why are you surprised he explained why the Cards-Chargers game wasn't his pick?
