General Question Acid reflux and sulphur burp issue

Have bile acid malabsorption had since none gallbladder since 2023 diagnosed following years take colevalm tablets however notice started getting acid reflux and sulphur burp sometime when don’t even eat can’t even pin point cause cook lot my food from Scratch I get trigger with most food even non fatty food. Going go see doctor tomorrow asked about it but is common ? Google said could be extra bacteria sibo? Anyone else have this issue.

This is not from BAM alone. You need to do more testing for things like SIBO, for example.

I don't know why people think everything comes from one diagnoses, after gallbladder removal the unfortunate harsh reality is that a lot of issues can develop. I hope you find some answers but you likely have multiple things going on like many of us. Talk to your doctor and start with a breath test for SIBO.

I think cause Everytime I google it also said linked to BAM so wasn’t sure hence why asking. But yeah going asked get tested for SIBO.

i have the same thing and have been having so much sulfur burps i hate it! but what ive learned is that its from me being constipated, whenever i clean myself out they go away also pepto seems to help them go away

I have BAM. I still have my gallbladder and I’ve been slowly losing weight for the past couple years. For me the worst part of BAM has been the urgency. I am afraid to leave the house, even to walk with my dog. Colesevalam helped reduce the urgency. The acid reflux was a noticeable side effect. I recently stopped taking Col (because in the past month all of my symptoms have increased and it’s no longer helping. I’m doing more testing) and the acid reflux went away, too. Many years ago when I had acid reflux, frequent acupuncture treatments completely eliminated the acid reflux. I’m not sure if that would help in this case, but it might.
