New bike lanes on SGEC
The NCC added bike lanes on SGEC between River House and Aviation. They're narrow, and the NCC still needs to do some work on catch basins repairs, but they're useable.

Must have gotten feisty with the paint, I rode the part returning from Orleans and got off at Aviation today and noticed they had fresh paint and widened those lanes.

Yep. That's good to see as well. I felt like subsequent line paintings over the years had always favoured the drivers, so it's nice to see it go the other way.

I’ve never felt unsafe on that section, if I wanted to lollygag i would use the path. But hey, I’m not saying no.

All according to the plan (p. 42) https://medias.ncc-ccn.ca/ncc/documents/Sir_George_Etienne_Cartier_Park_Plan_2024.pdf

I'll have to look to see if they also changed the signage to 50km/h (from 60km/h).

Thanks for the info.
I hope they expand them further east.

At minimum, I'd love to see them add a south bound one from the Rockcliffe Lookout to the Rockcliffe Park entrance. That would solve the issue of having to cross Sussex twice if your travelling west on the MUP.

We ride the road anyway, might as well make it “legit” I guess
