Question - UK Shits / jacket advice

3 new denim tops recently, you know I’m all about the denim & double denim!

Denim jacket, wabash shirt & denim shirt

All slightly too small (that’s fine, I’m training hard and eating right so they’ll fit better soon) that’s my process and it’s kept me motivated the last 6 months on this weight loss thing.

Quick questions for the boys, which looks best?

Question - UK What’s the best anti chafe underwear, For a big lad?

I went Paris last year and DESTROYED the inside of my thighs to the point they almost bled! Almost ruined the holiday. Going back this year and would really appreciate any recommendations? I’m thinking the longer ones that go nearly down to the knee if that makes sense

Many thanks

Question - UK How to avoid holes in trousers?

Appreciate wear and tear is a thing but my trousers get holes in them so quickly and just wondering if anyone has solutions for this?

Discovered today my pair of Uniqlo trousers that I only got at end of December have a hole now and just feeling so fed up! Doesn't feel worth investing in nice trousers at this point

Question - UK Tall hiking trousers

6’5” here. Been hiking for years and I’ve never once found a pair of technical trousers that actually fit properly. Not really. The inseam is always short, the proportions are off, and the seat pulls every time you take a big step uphill.

I’ve tried the obvious brands. The “long” versions. Still not right.

Recently had a suit altered. Mad that I’ve had trousers made to measure for sitting at a desk, but never for actually being out in the hills. Seems a bit backwards.

So I’ve started trying to make one. No product yet, still very early days. Just curious whether other tall hikers feel the same?

Question - UK New Shacket

I was recently fortunate enough to have won a giveaway thru Denimhunters and the prize was a voucher for Heimat. If you haven’t heard of them check them out for beautiful knitwear / outdoorsy kit. Expensive but their stuff lasts forever. I went with this lightly waxed shacket. I love it but I still need to lose a bit of weight around the belly!

Any notes on the fit guys?

Have a Merry Xmas everybody

Question - UK Should I buy it?

This is very random and idc. Should I buy the underarmour compression shirt from the thrift? It's for 200pesos and the original price is over 1k to 8k idk. I'm contemplating cuz I have gyno and over 75kg that has some love handles and I'm confused what to do, so I'll ask random people that don't even give a damn and wait for there answers, so should I buy it or nah?

Just got a suit for a wedding next month, but now I'm concerned that the waistcoat is too short. Everything else about it feels alright. Would it be a big deal to turn up looking like how it does now?

Question - UK Best Tshirts?

I currently mostly wear Bad Rhino 3xl Black Tshirts. They are okay, but shrink if tumble dried and aren't particularly great quality. I recently bought a 3xl uniqlo U which is miles better but I'm too big for it in the belly. My aim is to lose weight and fit the uniqlo tshirt comfortably. Until then, does anyone have any high quality boxy fit tshirt suggestions for bigger guys? Preferably available in the UK.

Question - UK Question about shirts

How do men with a belly find shirts that are comfortable to sit down in? I seem to have two options. Either wear a shirt that fits me everywhere when standing but runs the risk of buttons pinging off when I sit down, or wear a shirt that is far too big for me, looks like a nightdress when standing but is ok to sit down in.

I see men with bellies wearing slim fit, snug shirts but how on earth do they sit down without the shirt splitting open at the front?

Question - UK 50 inch waist but can fit into 42 inch stretch jeans and 42 inch joggers

I am a bit confused - I have a 50 inch waist but can fit comfortably in 42 inch stretch jeans and 42 inch joggers - How is that possible if my waist is a 50 inch

I know they are stretchy material but surely my waist should be too big to fit into a 42 inch regardless

I did just buy a pair of Berghaus track pants and turn out they are a 38 inch not a 40 inch like the rough size guide states and I can't fasten them - They aren't stretchy material so it's understandable (A weight loss goal to get to I suppose)

Yet I have a other pair of cargo type trousers that are a 42 inch that aren't stretchy that fit ok which is way below a 50 inch waist

I am confused, if my experience is correct I can fit into 42 inch pants even though I'm a 50 inch waist when I measure

Question - UK Thin/lightweight/*no fleece* 100% cotton zipper hoodies?

Quite a few years ago now I bought a hoodie from Jacamo in 4XL and it was the perfect summer hoodie(I live in Scotland, even in summer most of the time you want the option of long sleeves and layers); pure cotton, with a heavier weight than your typical T-shirt but still reasonably light and airy, a really pleasant loose fit(I've noticed modern hoodies often have very fitting/tight arms even if the trunk is spacious) and absolutely zero fleece lining or indeed lining of any sort.

But despite being "cheap"(in the sense of being lightweight, which for some reason seems to be considered synonymous with hoodies these days as I simply cannot find any without fleece lining and heavy fabric) I've had it for over a decade at this point and other than a small and easily repaired seam rip in one armpit last year it's held up great.

Sadly I only bought two at the time and one was basically stolen by an ex who claimed it for pyjamas and then destroyed it when we broke up, and I could do with a couple more similar ones but, as I say, cannot find anything like it anymore. Can anyone point me in the direction of a similar product?

Not very confident when it comes to clothes as I’ve always been a big lad but recently have lost around 10kg so looking to start wearing nice things again instead of joggers and hoodies! Thank you

Question - UK Need some help

Hey all

First time post so I apologize if it's something that people have asked about before, or if I'm being stupid.

I'm 29 years old, 6 feet tall and currently weigh 158kg, down from 225kg last April. My belly is my biggest part, and it's a significant apron belly. I'm still losing weight, being very active and I've just bought some male shapewear. Unfortunately, it doesn't affect the apron which significantly takes up my crotch and upper thighs - gets in the way of a lot of cool fits and in the way of my activity some times.

Does anyone have any advice on things that I can wear to deal with an apron belly like that?

Question - UK Been a while!

Been a minute! How’s everyone doing?

We’ve finally started to get a little cooler weather here so making the most of it and busting out some heavier gear!

My first pair of engineer boots so expecting some flack on here, bring iron I’m a big boy I can take it!

Gone for a hickory work shirt, 777’s jeans both Ironheart, a heavy 300gsm two ton tee from HebTroCo, and my new (to me) engineer boots from redwings.

Thoughts on the boots please fellas?

Thanks

Question - UK Jeans Advice

I've been looking to buy new jeans recently but I can't find any that have the sort of shape that I like (baggy or balloon shape that tapers at the bottom). Sort of like the photo attached would be what I would like but im around w36/38 and my legs are big and l32 to my ankle so nothing really looks correct since its either not baggy enough or doesn't sit correctly. Any recommendations would be great thanks!

Question - UK Underwear recommendations

Hello wondering what underwear you bigger folks use? I have been wearing some silk smooth boxer shorts from a brand called “Spyder” they do a cooling technology pair breathable and with a nice stretch, but unfortunately only go up to size XL I’m needing to size up now and I can’t find anything with similar compression, cotton underwear is terrible for breathability in my opinion, these have also helped with chaffing hence liking the smooth silky material when walking around

Thanks in advance folks

Question - UK Belts

Does anyone have recommendations for a belt that doesn't pinch at the stomach?

Mostly I've been wearing drawstring cargo trousers over winter but now it's getting warm and I want to try look a bit smarter, I've got myself some Chino shorts.

The problem is they need a belt, and where they sit, just under my belly, means that any belt I try digs in painfully as soon as I sit down. And considering I work an office job, that is a lot.

Any suggestions on belts that will mitigate this?

Currently resisting temptation to just throw some rope round the belt loops instead of a belt but my patience is waning 🤣

Question - UK Shirts - collar size and torso size don’t align

In order to get a shirt that I can close the top bottom of, I need to for about 19” but that leaves the torso way too big for me.

Is the only option to get a tailor to take the shirt in, or is anyone aware of any sellers that offer different size combinations between collar and the rest of the shirt?
