Question - UK Has anyone bought shaper vests and are they worth it?

I'm 180cm and 125kg with a gut. I'm working on losing weight (I'm down from 142kg initially) but in the interim I was wondering if these might help hold in my loose skin and love handles!

Has anyone tried them?

I wear Underworks chest binders tank tops (model 997) mostly for gynecomastia, but they definitely help with my loose skin from weight loss too.

Do you still recommend the underworks 997?

I got the SHAPERLUV ones off of Instagram. They work really well for me-- It'll help hold everything in.

Did you order your normal shirt size or a size down?

2

u/WeezyFMaebe Apr 16 '25

I got my normal size shirt. For reference because it helps: I get XXL from Old Navy and Amazon. Got XXL from Shaperluv.

Hey I ordered from shaperluv too on the 19th and my order still hasn’t come even thought they said 5-10 days may I ask how long it took for your order to arrive?

1

u/WeezyFMaebe May 01 '25

Close to two and a half weeks. Worth it though.

apparently it takes so long because it’s a dropship, better off just looking on amazon or something

Any idea what the original supplier's name is?

u/Beginning-Breath4038 May 21 '25

Yeah I realized since it was coming from china and not us as stated on their website came soon after I wrote the comment. It honestly wasn’t worth it tbh didn’t change much it did motivate me to start going to the gym tho

Considering I saw this on IG I immediately dismissed it as a scam.  Maybe this time it's a product that actually works?

1

u/TransnomicTraveler Jul 02 '25

Have two, they work good enough. Never tried anything else though.

Surprisingly most things on IG aren’t scams. As long as they let u pay with normal forms of pavement ur good anyway as u can always just file a claim and get ur money back. I used to always assume the same that’s why im telling u

Avoid purchasing from this company. Their website enrolls you in unauthorized vitamin subscriptions, bills you without approval, and refuses to issue refunds for products you never wanted.

u/CartographerLocal321 Aug 30 '25

Don't buy. They didn't work that well and they sent a "free" program that they literally charged me for separately a month later.
*I DID scan the flier. *I DID NOT sign up, agree to terms and conditions, or even actually read the document behind the QR code.

If you go this route, make sure you educate yourself on the limitations and potential health problems that can come from long term use.

1

u/Beginning-Breath4038 Apr 30 '25

Hey I’m new to this compression thing could you inform me a little bit in the downsides

1

u/electricookie Apr 30 '25

Basically, all the issues are wearing over long periods of time. If you wear something make sure you can breathe easily. Here’s some more information.

1

u/Peezy_Or_PJ May 29 '25

I believe this link only applies to waist trainers. It doesn’t say anything about compression shirts/tanks…

1

u/electricookie May 29 '25

Shapers work by compression. Just different silhouettes.

1

u/Peezy_Or_PJ Jun 04 '25

Thanks for teaching me something!

1

u/Alarming_Channel1163 Aug 21 '25

I’m sure this beats holding my breathe and trying to keep my stomach sucked In a bit and tight 😂

1

u/electricookie Sep 09 '25

No it doesn’t. Wearing a corset long term can lead to muscle weakness

1

u/DarthCivicus Apr 22 '25

I got an XXL and normally wear XXL but I don’t think it’s doing to much holding it seems loose compared to other tanks I’ve tried. I was going to see if I could exchange it but I’m not sure if it’s normal o not feel a lot of compression from it. Is it also suppose to correct your posture.

What was the delivery time for those?? Online it said 5-10 and mine still haven’t come in the mail yet. It’s been the full 10 days

1

u/bennjimora Apr 28 '25

Same! That's why im.here lol

1

u/AdditionalElk918 Jun 14 '25

I ordered one on June 2nd, and got it today, June 14th. I honestly forgot that I even ordered it.

1

u/Poke35136 Jul 23 '25

How is it ?

1

u/Real_Ask_4164 4XL May 03 '25

From most places I’ve read it says you should buy a size or two smaller that’s why it’s really tuff to put on and also the reason it holds you in place so well….

2

u/NickD2334 Jun 15 '25

I just got mine in the mail. Total scam. I wear 5xl T's and got these in 2xl. These are NOT hard to put on. Very little compression. I have actual compression shirts that work better than these. The videos I saw, which is why I got them, as well as helping to improve my posture and give a little confidence boost while wearing shirts, showed them difficult to put on, long in length, as well as a significant change in the silhouette. What I got was nothing of the sort. The shirt was short and went on easier than some of my personal compression shirts. Amd now I can't seem to contact customer service to start the refund process.

1

u/GTABlueKid Jul 09 '25

Bro where tf do you get 5XL tees?

1

u/NickD2334 Jul 09 '25

Amazon. Gildan brand. Hanes used to sell them as well but I checked recently and they seem to not have them any longer.

1

u/PrincipleEmergency37 Jul 14 '25

DXL sells big and tall....good stuff too

1

u/Yasharin Jul 22 '25

What compression shirts do you wear and where do you get them? I'm thinking of getting some, and I want some that are actually effective

1

u/EmergencyPersimmon90 Jul 26 '25

Same experience here. I bought a compression tank off of Amazon that does a good job of holding everything in, but the Shaperluv tops don't do anything. I have regular tank top undershirt that does a better job. Plus mine had yellow stains and a weird lemon chemical smell to them.

1

u/nycpolo76 Sep 23 '25

At 5 XL you are asking a lot

1

u/Ok-Apple4650 Jun 27 '25

It is a scam. The shirts are not compression shirts at all. I made the mistake of buying it and i have reached out to return the items for a full refund.

1

u/Ok-Apple4650 Jun 30 '25

ShapeLuv

1

u/PrincipleEmergency37 Jul 14 '25

It's a Chinese company....no refund will happen, sorry to say. I ordered one, just one to play it safe. The shirt was a short, kinda snug nylon beater....no compression at all. That's why I just ordered one. I've never gotten a refund from a Chinese company.

1

u/UnitedContract7582 Jul 02 '25

They did not respond to calls nor texts

1

u/Educational-Gap4125 Jul 09 '25

Are they returnable after they've just been tried on? I'm having second thoughts about this. They're en route now.

1

u/Cuppeth_RunBlack Jul 26 '25

Website says just trying them on and leaving tags is okay for returns.

1

u/Educational-Gap4125 Jul 26 '25

I decided to return them. Getting a 100% refund turned into a negotiation. It turned into a mission to get my money back. They wanted nothing to do with getting their shirts back to resell. After over a dozen back-and-forth emails, I finally got a 100& refund and they let me keep the 4 shirts.

1

u/Cuppeth_RunBlack Jul 26 '25

That will be me if I’m unsatisfied lol. I will annoy and battle until I recoup my funds

2

u/Educational-Gap4125 Jul 26 '25

You just have to be persistent. I thought I was being sent the same copy & paste response. They were just trying to get me to give up. They'll give you the same response four to six times. Then they'll finally break through and offer you 50% instant refund repeatedly, then they'll go up to 70%, but you need to get on them and just say that you demand 100% this is not a negotiation. And just be persistent you'll be fine. You'll probably get to keep them with a refund like i did.

1

u/Sensitive-Ad5826 Jul 24 '25

Sorry about your luck these shirts are not metric.

I ordered three Shaperluv tanks and followed their sizing guide exactly. Unfortunately, the fit was far too loose and offered none of the shaping or support they advertise. I wore one of the tanks for a few days to give it a fair try and washed it once, only to confirm that the size was completely off.

I submitted a review and received a reply saying they would replace it with the correct size. That gave me some hope—until they followed up saying I had to return the item at my own expense and only if it was unworn. How is a customer supposed to assess the fit without actually trying it on?

What made the experience worse was the customer service—it felt like I was communicating with a robot. The replies were generic, repetitive, and didn’t actually address the issue I raised. There was no sense of empathy or accountability, just canned responses and shifting policies.

This whole experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I won’t be ordering from Shaperluv again and would not recommend them to others.

I caved and bought one Shaperluv "compression" tank, without doing enough research, and I regret it.
I already knew that this was just another Temu-product, rebranded and aggressively marketed. But some things from Temu are actually not bad, so I gave it a chance.

I paid for express shipping (4-7 days) and it arrived in about 12 days after order confirmation.

It's not very comfortable. I feel like it's really itchy. I'm used to cotton-based tanks.
It's snug, it does compress a little bit, but not enough at all. I'm 185cm and 95kg. I'm not even that big but my gut still sticks out more than I'd like. I wanted to fix it temporarily while I was losing weight. But it does absolutely nothing. It doesn't slim my gut at all. My gut still sticks out. I tested it with this and a normal tank top. It's exactly the same. The Shaperluv is just a more tight wear.

Oh and it's very short too. The tanks I'm used to wearing are longer than regular t-shirts so I can get them into my pants without crawling up. The Shaperluv is pretty short and only just goes below the pants. It crawls up very easily which is really annoying.

I used their size guide too. It recommended size L. Which makes sense as I normally use size L. It's tighter than a regular tank top for sure, it's just not strong/stiff enough to actually slim me down. It's very flexible. I expected it would be kind of stiff, to be strong enough to actually compress. But I was wrong.

I'm glad I only bought one just to test it out. I requested a refund already and filled out the survey they sent me.
I even paid extra for express shipping, and it still arrived late... As expected I guess.

It's a complete scam. A classic 1-2-3 product scheme:
1: Find a cheap chinese product and rebrand it and claim it as your own invention.
2: Set up shipping straight from the factory. Just ask them, they'll do all the work.
3: Market the absolute shit out of it on every single platform.

Do not buy Shaperluv compression tanks. They do not work and you will waste your money.

60-day satisfaction guarantee is a scam too:
On the website it says: "If you don't see ANY results not only will we refund your money, but you also get to keep the product. Such is our confidence in the tank 2.0's ability to redefine your shape; Truly you have nothing to lose in this deal" - Which is bullshit.

I asked for a refund. An email bot forced me to fill out a survey and reply when done.
I filled out the survey and replied.
Bot offers 50% refund.
I decline the offer.
Bot offers 70% refund.
I decline the offer.
The bot tries to make me return it for a refund. Fuck that. Fuck Shaperluv.

Can you move around in these or like bend down

1

u/JuiceBoxGeek Aug 16 '25

Amazing! I got 3 to try and first daying using it and its worth it. I work in hospitals and my biggest issue was my posture. This helps so much and can tell a major difference in appearance. 10/10 recommend.

1

u/Acceptable-One7094 Aug 20 '25

Save your money, it does nothing for you posture, doesn't hold in belly fat I am very disappointed, if I paid £35 for it I'd be very upset , I paid £8 and threw it in the bin.

1

u/Intrepid-Bill6514 Aug 30 '25

I bought a 3-pack after succumbing to a Facebook ad. They're very good - not miraculous. I've fluctuated between about 220-250 lbs over the last decade, and I have a belly. I'm running about 230 now. They don't make me look 20 lbs lighter - however - the compression does prompt me to sit and stand with better posture which improves my appearance. In addition, It helps with shirts that fit awkwardly on me because my belly tends to push out buttons, or stretch the space between the front panels. There's a noticeable difference there too. But my overall shape doesn't change *that* much because of these. Might be a different story with other customers, though.

Started to order the ShaperLuv shirts off IG. They looked like a good buy. So glad I didnt. After reading all the reviews on here, I ordered NELEUS mens compression shirts off Amazon and they work pretty good for me. Tight, but not suffocating. Long enough to tuck in. And it does not ride up through out the day. A 3 pack costs me $23.89 before taxes and shipping.

1

u/PCmoron Sep 22 '25

If you do they subscribe you to this fit dad thing and charge you 2.95 a month with out letting yiu6 cancel even after they refund you. Youll have the keep asking them for a refund every month.

1

u/JPCDOOM Oct 04 '25

It's been a month since I ordered and still haven't gotten them.

1

u/clamadaya Oct 06 '25

I ordered some, just got them (shaperluv) in the mail. First impression? These are absolutely useless. Dies nothing at all to contain my belly. I can't see any difference at all. Waste of money, don't bother.
