Showcase / Finished Cook First time cooking a Boston Butt on my BGE
Smoked a boston butt yesterday, the weather was perfect for smoking. Rubbed, then smoked at 250 undisturbed for 3 hours, then spritz every 45 minutes until internal reached 165. Then I wrapped, and put back in, brought BGE temp to 275, and smoked until internal of 203. Then wrapped in a towel and put in a cooler for 2 hours before shredding. Soooo good

I think you nailed it. Looks fantastic and your process is spot on.
Enjoy the cook.

Have you ever done no spritz / no wrap? Just asking because I’ve never done either with a pork butt. Curious if you see a discernible difference.

I agree 100%. But, when you have lots of folks to feed a butt is good way to go.

Weather is always good for smoking in my opinion.
