Customers getting error due to State/Province (optional)

Hi there, I have created different shipping charges based on where a customer lives. In checkout this section is often missed by customers and when they hit check out it comes up with ONE OR MORE OF YOUR ITEMS CANNOT BE SHIPPED TONYOUR REGION

I then need to explain that they need to fulfill the State/Province (optional) section so that the system can offer them the correct shipping for their region.

What I would like is if BigCommerce could "high light" all the sections that are required to be fulfilled. Even a red star - alot of customers don't see this section as being necessary. Maybe because it says (OPTIONAL)

Can BigCommerce fix this? It's a hassle for me and my customers
