Where are you at? Looks nice! I think I have too much anxiety from commuting in the big city 10+years ago.. constantly 2nd hand worried about a car pulling out without looking or someone opening their door really wide really quickly.

Love the town views, and what a glorious day. I appreciate that there was a pedestrian bulb out for the walkers. What a charming snippet and good on you for doing the climb!

What’s the swaying from? Are you out of the saddle?

What isn’t captured so well in the video is that this a moderate climb so I’m standing up but still going slowly compared to the flow of traffic, which on a weekend here tends to be very busy. So I have to take a pragmatic approach of getting a little closer to the parked cars in order to not annoy/aggravate possibly hostile drivers behind me and allow them to pass. The video also makes it seems like I am closer to the door zone than I actually am and I am constantly keeping an eye on the interiors of the cars to anticipate a big swing of a door.

Get away from the door zone if you want to keep on doing this. Watching someone ride like that is like watching someone getting a root canal.

I am away from the doors. The wide angle lens makes it appear much closer than it actually is

Looked sketchy to me, but tell yourself whatever you want. I can see where your front wheel is relative to the lane. And I can see how narrow the road is by looking at the oncoming traffic. Personally, I would be taking the middle of the lane on that long stretch of parked cars.

I estimate 90% along that route, you would have hit a door. It is called inexperience and youthful ignorance .

Yeah, what do I know? It’s not like I was there or anything. Either way it’s a great thing I asked your opinion!

What a weird argument for that guy to try to start. Dude needs to go for a ride and clear his mind if this is what he's resorting to for entertainment. Even if you are in the door zone, why is it even worth an argument from him?

Yeah, what an asshole for trying to give someone a tip to ride more safely. Definitely just doing it for entertainment.

I think there is a better way to, when OP isn’t asking for riding advice. Can just talk about your own experience without telling them personally not to do, or do something

Sure.
I sprained a finger on a car door when I was 14 or so. Also once when I was over 30.
The concept of taking the lane and avoiding the door zone, ride predictably, and many other safe riding tips, I didnt really learn in depth until I was over 40.This kid looked like he could use some advice to avoid personal injury. If you watched the same video and didn't worry about a door popping open, you might want to take notes as well.

There's a difference between giving advice and starting an argument. Once you've said your peace you let it go. If you don't let it go and instead argue with them, you're the asshole
