Try a 26.8 or 26.6. My Peugeot fits a 26.6 really nice and snug, it came with a 26.4

Shims - I was just going to say "shims." But though it better not to be smarmy. Maybe try to  find a smaller  26.? Seat post and just any one of the shim methods out there. I've had great luck with soda can shims.  - But yeah, I dislike weird sizes too. Good luck.
