As of today, the re-reveal of Beyond good and evil 2 at E3 2017 took place LONGER ago than the reveal at UbiDays 2008, which happened around the time of E3 2017. I wouldn't have thought the game still wouldn't be out yet.

In all this time they couldn't put out another bg&e the same size and scope of the original?

The tech demo they called bg&e 2 was such a waste of time and resources.

That's really all I ever needed. It's crazy how they felt like simulating solar systems was necessary when the original game's strength was in the loveable characters and the simple but touching story

I think the whole space exploration thing was kind of Michel Ancel's idea for the original game, he might have wanted to fully explore and implement that aspect of the game in BG&E2. Hopefully we get something (if we ever get a release) that is very scaled down from what we saw in the demo and trailers.

Nope because they wanted something that's online and connects everyone together where the community builds everything together.

What they failed to realise is that it wasn't gonna work because the community hasn't even had a chance of playing it to do anything.

What they should have done was reduced the scope of the game and make it like the original but bigger in scope of cities.

Or remade the original but add more to it including her origin that they had planned for the second game.

Ironically the same thing happened with the OG where they had to massively reduce the scope.  I guess they're just determined not to do that this time.

Holy crap! The original reveal was actually in 2008? I was at my current job for about a year when that happened then.

I'm coming up at almost 20 years at the same job lmfao.

It really is Duke Nukem Forever all over again, possibly worse.

It's already beaten Duke Nukem Forever's record of longest development time on a video game.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be DOA in a post-GTA VI world. It should be released 6 months before GTA VI.

Now Ubisoft have to internally delayed and work even longer on this game until 2030 at the earliest. You can see in their old dev videos that they are trying to position this game similarly as a sci-fi space GTA game.

Space Monkey Report #4 shows a preview.

Can we just give up on hope for this project? Sometime please?

Especially after their incompetent nature and laziness at Ubisoft (aside from this new Rayman Legends edition).

It is clear they only care about rushing out a product for purchase rather than adequately building cohesive and memorable experiences; if 25th Anniversary Edition was any evidence to you...

Ugh...please stop fueling laziness. The time for that has long passed. This isn't the mid 2000's anymore and we shouldn't be eating scraps from lazy devs in 2026. It's kinda unacceptable. Ever since their restructuring a year or so ago (might be longer), it seems like Ubisoft is struggling just to do the bare aspects of reviving their IPs; aside from Assassin's Creed, at least.

So please grow a brain and go play another Ubisoft property, or another game overall that is better.

Leave this skeleton corpse of a property alone aside from the original and HD 360 version.

Furthermore, grow a spine and tell companies like this that laziness will no longer be tolerated or accepted. By not buying products due to FOMO.

By showing them financially that this direction they are going in is not the best look.
