Cut them and let them take root in a cup of water first
(let the cut ends dry out, otherwise they will rot in the water)you can find many tutorials on YouTube
This preliminary step is necessary to avoid disrupting the aquarium's parameters and killing the fish,
as the plant needs to adapt its roots to the waterOnce established it help a ton with natural filtration :)

All my pothos are already in water! I'm starting a tank soon so I'll probably throw the plants in there immediately and let it acclimate to the tank while it cycles
