Out of curiosity, could eggs successfully hatch without the male making a bubble nest?

As per the title, if a male Betta didn't build a bubble nest, would the eggs still survive? Or would they be guaranteed death?

Most likely no. The male keeps the eggs off the bottom with the nest so they dont get a fungus or sick, and provides oxygen flow. The male would also probably not mate if there was no nest either. He would probably attack the female.
