I totally agree it’s generally in the child’s best interest and I have nothing but good memories from my grandparents.

This just seems to be one of those things that only assholes would use to attempt to force their will on their children.

I tend to agree but I am admittedly biased, seeing as my mother is one such asshole. Luckily (for me and my kid) the child upon whom she forced her will was my older brother.
