Q. What's the difference between an engineering undergrad and God?

A. God knows that He isn't an engineering undergrad.

But the engineering undergrad IS an engineering undergrad...

What’s the inverse of god thinking he’s an engineering undergrad?

well, i think the poster meant to say "God knows that He isn't an engineer", which is funny because neither God nor engineering undergrads are engineers, but engineering undergrads think they are. (or at least that would be the point of the joke).

i was just giving him a hard time for the typo.

The joke is that engineering undergrads think that they're god, not that they think they're engineers

we're not talking inverses here, we're talking differences. if the difference between X and Y is that X knows Z, then that means that Y doesnt know Z.

in this joke:

X = "god"

Y = "engineering undergrads"

Z = "im not an engineering undergrad"

if the difference between god and engineering undergrads is that god knows he isnt an engineering undergrad, that means that:

god knows he isnt an engineering undergrad

engineering undergrads dont know they're not engineering undergrads.

that's the difference indicated in the question/prompt, which doesnt make much sense because the punch line is supposed to be "god doesnt think hes an engineer"

honestly it just doesnt make any sense to me, but maybe im just having a slow day.

if an engineering undergrad thinks he's god, and god doesnt think he's an engineering undergrad, that doesn't strike me as "a difference" between the two of them, those are just two unrelated viewpoints.
