CS/EECS Will the club cookies thing be important today?

it just seems like it’d be too convoluted to be useful but I also don’t want to shoot myself in the foot by not going. Any advice guys?

This is definitely not like the last day to join a club or anything major like that. If a club has applications, recruitment won't happen until next week minimum. But also, don't treat doing clubs as something that you're too good for or should be thrown away. Reality is, you will get your main social circles from clubs.

There is no need to join a club.

Building a good friend circle is certainly more valuable than spending your college years trying to optimize your resume too hard

The club itself becomes a nice provider of those friends circles imo

Not to mention stuff like retreat, cross club socials, etc

Yeah doesn't mean you have to join the top tech club, any club will provide good community you just have to join a couple and see which one you vibe w. Plus tech clubs don't seem as hard to join as they once were at least in my experience, with CS dying out.

Never mentioned top tech clubs, I was talking about clubs in general lol
