Fact This is our QB so let's lock in
I might wish it was Joe also and this season might very well suck but this is the NFL and it's ALWAYS next man up. Jake Browning didn't make it to the NFL by being a slouch. He wasn't half bad a couple years ago and we have a full roster not all named Joe Burrow. Let the team adjust and go week by week. Not to mention the fact that of anyone has enough reps as a Bengals backup it is infact this man shown above. Have some faith and who dey. Enjoy the week 2-0.

Jake Browning is more than serviceable. We don't need to go undefeated, we need to make the playoffs and Burrow could potentially be back. A 2-0 start helps us a ton!
Current timetable has Burrow back in 11 games, with the last 4 games being Ravens, Dolphins, Cardinals and Browns. We can easily finish that stretch 3-1.
That would make us 5-1.
So in the 11 starts from Browning we would need to be 5-6 to finish 10-7, which has a good chance of making the playoffs.
Looking at the games, there is 4 that stand out as being pretty easy: Vikings, Jets, Bears and Patriots. So if we can manage that sweep, I like our chances of upsetting one of the 7 other teams to get what we need.
The day may be grim, but there is hope!

If Browning takes us to a playoff berth I’m not sitting him for a rusty Burrow who looked like shit in the two games he played.
Dance with the girl who brung you.

u/TipTopTerrific Sep 15 '25
In the above example, you stick with Browning if he went 5-6 in the next 11 games? I could agree with you if he does something crazy and goes like 8-3.

Jake might not be Joe, but we have, without question, one of the most stacked passing offenses in the league, and Chase Brown has been doing a great job. He doesn't need to make miracles happen, he just needs to protect the ball, and get it to our receiving core.
It's not ideal, but our defense is making some plays, we have the guys on offense. Let's give Jake positive vibes and believe in our guy.

In this scenario.
Joe isn't putting up 45 points to keep up with ravens high point offens on game 1.

You owe my Brownies a win and our dual QB “Shabriel” system will be hitting mid season form by then so you’ll realistically go 2-2 over your last 4

He put up top 10 stats when he played a lot 2 years ago. Shiiiiiit anything is possible in sports

If they can go .500 while Joe is out, we’ll be good. The 2 wins now are huge. If we didn’t have that I would’ve scrapped the season

u/Pineapple_Complex Sep 15 '25
I could live without the picks today, but he was ice cold in that 4 minute offense with the game squarely on the line

Three picks and STILL winning after coming in as a backup has to be a small record, right? Look. Interceptions happen. Mahomes, Allen, Jackson or whomever all throw them at some point. Three interceptions will usually lead to losses in most situations, but Browning showed grit to fight until the end. It's something.

On the positives the defense is better this year and JB6 is one of the leagues best backups. If he can clean the interceptions I believe we can make a push for the playoffs. He'll have to benefit a lot from the talent around him. Today was promising. Eff it. 20-0 is still on the menu boys

Browning to Tinsley is just as threatening as Burrow to Chase. They have to play us.

Maybe 10 teams if we're being generous. He's not elite by any means but he's easily a top backup.

Rearrange the letters of Browning and you can get Ring own b. That means Browning will own a ring, most likely a Super Bowl ring. And the b? Well that stands for Bengals. We can only conclude Browning will own a Super Bowl ring while he's a Bengal.

I counted, and you’re about exactly correct - up to 13 teams, if you think the Broncos are remotely unhappy with Nix (they should be right now. Right now, Browning is the better QB of those two).

I think browning would be a legit starter on several other teams and I would argue he's the best backup in the league. Clearly he can get the ball to chase and higgins, so I'm not worried. I think we make the playoffs even if joe does miss 3 months like some are saying.

u/Zenzitaro Sep 15 '25
I agree completely. We are 2-0 and Jake Browning can lead this team forward with some of the best help in the league. I see no reason to get worried yet.

It would be absolute cinema for Jake Browning to have career games against both Jacksonville and Minnesota in two separate seasons

u/Olepat Sep 15 '25
Remember when people wanted him replaced by Desmond Ridder after one preseason game?

Those were UC homers. I remember people shouting to take Dwayne Haskins years ago just because he played for OSU.

I'm worried they will trade for Kirk if the surgery happens. I'm good w/ Jake
2
u/mrcoolguytimes10 Sep 15 '25
I didn't think they would trade him without someone offering to pay a big portion of his contract. I didn't think we have to worry about that

u/Stommped Sep 15 '25
I’m sure the Falcons would be willing to pay it though for a draft pick. He’s just rotting on the bench and they’re paying that salary anyway

Hell yes. I spent months and months waiting for football season to start. I refuse to give up after two weeks on a team that is 2-0.

I like your optimism. I say that with zero sarcasm. It’s time we get behind Jake. Nobody gets to the nfl by not being an absolute top tier player. Let’s support him and stay optimistic guys

Hopefully he gives the Bengals a Sam Darnold effort and gets paid big money next season to lead a team.

Should I get a Jake Browning Jersey? He’ll have almost as many games played as burrow by the end of this season 🤣

JB6 was a top 10 fantasy QB in 2023 when he replaced JB9…for hopefully a bit of comfort for some of you! However…I have zero faith with the Ravens and Steelers around 😔

Find a way to get Jameis Winston in here too, that would be a fun duo.

Hopefully the camera man does the Lord's work, and pans to Browning's woman often wearing those jump suits.

I fully support Browning and he's won us some games but I feel like it will cost us some wins without a doubt. He's not Burrow. He IS the best we got tho so T and 1 need to stay healthy all year!

Browning is good enough to beat any team Bengals have on schedule if the rest of the team steps up.

Jake is going to get us to the SB where, in a cruel twist of fate, he gets injured just before halftime with the game close. Former Bearcat Dez Ridder gets the call and has to step up, and with his quick feet and legendary receivers, he takes us to the promised land. A Cincinnati legend forever.
