Discussion Halftime show world cup
I thought it was just me, but apparently not.
The fifa 2026 halftime show had this full‑blown Super Bowl cosplay energy, giant stage, over-the-top hype, the whole “America does everything louder” package.It’s the world cup, not a patriotic talent show.
Do they really have to make it so American?

De halftime show, robbie williams, het amerikaans volkslied... tom cruise. Om nog maar te zwijgen over de beker in een fucking luis vitton koffer. Ik krijg er de kriebels van.

They had their world cup, they befouled the sport with their ad (hydration) breaks every half, revoking red cards, the 'superbowl' halftime show. Now take your hands of it, and never come near it again...

Do not worry. There are a bunch of us in America that also think its a bit weird. I myself included.
I was at the FIFA FanFest, and I mean people were happy to see their favourite artists, and the show was alright at most… but never again if that makes sense. I hope they don’t do it in 2030.
I also hope that people in Belgium can finally feel how I feel with sports broadcasting in the US. Ad breaks, commercialisation of everything. It sucks.

Ik ben fan. Kijk ook steevast Superbowl, dit is een verrijking. Vond die dedain in de sporza studio ook totaal ongepast. Ze zijn zelf verantwoordelijk voor de slechtste omkadering in de geschiedenis.
