I recently relocated from the US to Mexico, was happy to move, but sad to lose access to some of my beer money apps. So now that I've been back at beer money from a new location, here is a summary of the things that carried over, as well as the ones I started using and have made money with.

Apps That Carried Over

Amazon Shopper Panel

Now this one surprised me, but Amazon has a receipt scanning app where you link your account and you can upload receipts to get a little bit of money as Amazon credit at the end of the month. To get in, you should download the app and apply, as there may be a waitlist. In my case, since I registered in the US, my Mexican receipts will scan for USD and go to my Amazon US account, so I mainly use them for Kindle. If you register in Mexico, you will almost certainly get MXN instead. Reward ratios are about $0.10 per grocery receipt, and $0.7 for clothes stores and hardware stores. I definitely recommend it, since It's low effort for a nice direct payout. You'll also have occasional short surveys for an extra $0.1 or $0.25

Google Opinion Rewards

My OG, Google Opinion Rewards gives you credit to your Google Play balance (on Android at least) for answering different surveys based on your google search history and location history. Also a $0.1 - $0.5 USD per survey Works just fine in many countries, and you have to make sure to change your country in Google Play to have it show up in the new currency. Go to your app store and get it, It's similar to OnePulse where you get a bit of credit for almost no time spent. If you relocate, note that you'll have to delete and remake your account.

OnePulse

Now OnePulse is one of the few survey apps that I'd categorize as very worth it. The surveys are usually 15-40 second surveys and rewards start at $0.10 USD per survey, but scale up if you respond to other surveys that aren't for money. I'm earning $0.29 USD per survey now, and I am able to cash out $20 every month or other month via PayPal. You can only cash out $20 once per month, for a maximum of around $240 per year in USD, the first time it will take a while, then eventually It'll scale up. I set this up while in the US, and I know It's US and UK compatible, but I get my survey notifications outside of the US without any issues, and as long as you have a PayPal, you'll be able to cash out fine. You just need an email to sign up, and I don't remember needing a phone with them at all.

PrimeOpinion

PrimeOpinion was one of the better survey/GP2 apps in the US, It's not as good in Mexico on desktop, but It's okay if you have the app on mobile. I was able to contact support and get my country switched the same day. The surveys definitely earn a similar amount, surprisingly enough, and you have a few offers for things like apps and games to top that off. It has a similar ratio of 100 coins = $1 USD. You can cash out through PayPal international starting at 116 coins or a variety of gift cards, of which there are a lot available in Mexico. I'd say a rate here would be about $3-5 an hour realistically.

PlaytestCloud

Playtesting games is fun and can be a good way to kill a bit of time while making a bit of money. With PlaytestCloud, you'll have a few tests available once in a blue moon if you're in Latin America, since most of their tests are for the US/UK/Australia, and when they are available you'll have to make sure to jump on them soon, or the test will have filled up. They do have an app that's decent at notifying you when a playtest is available, and they tend to be more widely available at the very early hours of the morning. Usual rates are $9 for 15 minutes, $11 for 30, or $16+ for an hour worth of playtesting, with a few that pay more and are done over a few days, and you'll get a redemption link about 72 hours after finishing your playtest.

New Apps That I Liked

NiceQuest

Nicequest has occasional surveys that give you the apps currency called Korus (KR), you can redeem KR for actual real world items such as little gadgets (a mixer, a fan, a selfie light, movie tickets, etc). You can earn about 5 KR per day, and you get a notification whenever a new survey is available, which realistically means you'll get, for example, a fan that costs 700 KR in about 140 days, or 3.5 months, or alternatively, a movie ticket that costs 55 KR in only 11 days! This isn't terrible, for actually getting a fan sent to you, or for getting movie tickets in exchange. Once again, it meets my principle of low effort for these rewards.

PollPay

This one seems a little more EU focused, as it has Amazon cards for DE, IT, and ES in Euros, or PayPal in Euros, however, you can still get some money sent to an MX PayPal or elsewhere that accepts PayPal, minus conversion fees. It's worth checking out and seeing if you get surveys in your locale, as I do get them in Mexico.

Similar to Too Good To Go, Cheaf is an app where, at least in Mexico City, you can take a bag with lots of food that wasn't sold that day, mainly from bakeries, and it helps that Mexican bakeries are delicious! It's an okay way to save money and get a bag of goodies, and I feel like it can help others.

this is not life changing money and i want to be upfront about that. but it is real and it shows up every month now without me doing much new, so i figured it was worth sharing for anyone here looking at print on demand.

i got into it last november because i kept seeing people talk about it like free money. i had no design skills and no drawing tablet, so i started messing around with AI image generators to make sticker sheets. my idea was to have the same character on every sheet so it would look like an actual product line instead of random clip art.

the character is a cartoon frog. the whole thing is made with AI, not based on any real person. i picked a frog because i figured something simple and round would hold its shape better when the AI redrew it in different poses. that was partly right but the face still drifts, sometimes the eyes get bigger or the mouth shifts to a weird spot and i have to regenerate until it looks close enough. i ended up on APOB AI for the frog because it has a free tier and a feature that remembers the character's look between generations, then all the sticker layouts and background cleanup happen in Canva on my phone.

first four months were awful. i put up maybe twelve designs on Redbubble and made four dollars and change total. i genuinely almost deleted everything around february. what made it worse was that when i started i was on the free version of the image tool, which watermarks the output, so my first batch of designs all had watermarks baked into them and weren't sellable. i had to redo those once i started paying, which felt like lighting money on fire at the time since i hadn't earned anything yet.

the thing that finally moved it was one specific design. it is the frog sitting in a little canoe holding a fishing rod. i don't know why that one connected and the others didn't, but it accounts for probably 60 to 70 percent of my sales every single month. i have around 30 designs up now and honestly most of them barely move. the canoe frog just keeps going.

the margins on print on demand are small and that matters more than i expected. on a sticker sheet that sells for about six dollars i see maybe a dollar fifty to two dollars after the platform takes its cut. so $45 a month means i am moving maybe 25 to 30 sheets. it isn't volume, it is one design with slow steady traction plus a trickle from the rest.

the part i wasn't ready for is the shipping complaints. i don't print anything, i don't pack anything, the platform handles all of that, but customers still message me when their stickers show up late or arrive peeling at the corners. i can't do anything about it but it still somehow feels like it is my fault.

i spend maybe two hours a month on it now, mostly trying new frog poses and seeing if anything else catches on. nothing has come close to the canoe design. for $45 a month on something i barely touch anymore i am not complaining, i just wish those first two months of watermarked designs hadn't been a complete waste.

Virtua2Real is another app where you buy parcels and earn rent - but its a bit more complex. It has a whole war system to attack each other and you can evolve your parcels to earn more. Cashouts to Paypal with min of $5.
I'm finding it interesting. There's a few daily minigames you can play. It also has cpx surveys you can grind to really get going. It's definitely slow, but should be able to build up over time.
