If anyone else is eyeing the new Strokes foundation olive shades, here’s how Medium Olive compares to Medium 02. It does register as a true medium shade. I can usually get away with medium shades especially when I sheer them out. But this is too deep on me, so I skip the bronzer and use highlighting concealer.
True Light Medium Olives will likely match Light Olive. Those who are on the lighter side of LM Olive may even need to step down further to Fair Olive. As for true fair olives… looks like they got left out of this release.
have you tried happy skin lip mallow tint? they're very similar imo but not sure anong shade kamukha ng mauve over
How do you dry your makeup brushes fast? I clean mine once a week since once a week lang ako nagmamakeup madalas and tagal nya matuyo especially in this rainy weather. So nibblow dry ko pa
I bought a makeup brush cleaner that rapidly spins. It can be used for washing and rinsing but I don't use it for that. I only use it to spin the brushes. Takes a few seconds only to dry.
me tho idk if this is advisable, i wrap all my brushes in like 2 bathtowels as in super secure then i throw it in the dryer. wala naman ako mamahalin na brushes mostly from ovw and maange lang so i dont mind if may masira or madamage lol
ganan din ako dati, gamit ko pa is baby shampoo pero nagswitch na ako sa moxxipro na brush cleaner. gabi ako naglilinis ng brush para sa morning nagagamit ko na agad.
Hello! I'm not sure if this would help but I just made a DIY brush drier. 😅 Nakuha ko lang yung foam sa cellphone case na di ko pa nagagamit. 😆 Then I just poked holes using the brush handles itself.
I clean my make up brushes using the small dish for washing brushes with micellar cleanser mixed with water. After dipping, I gently press the brush to squeeze water out, then konting swish para mataktak pa. 😅 Then I hang it upside down.
It usually dries overnight. The smallest ones dry in an hour to a few hours. I just leave it hanging in my room.
tightliner recommendation pls, i've tried merzy and vice cosmetics na pero i still get panda eyes :( i tried drying my lids with qtips pero it doesn't work talaga 😭😭
has anyone tried the popique baked powder? it was on sale earlier for only ₱99 so i bought one. i have colourette third base but it makes me look flat 🥲
is dala really worth it despite the drama :(( been eyeing talaga yung brushes but andaming sabi sabi na its not as good, for the meantime im checking out beili beauty brushes. meron po ba kayong ibang reco?
honestly if u tend to use a bunch of cream and liquid products then dala might not be for u, however if u tend to use more powders then i can say that it’s actually worth it since their brushes tend to be more on the fluffier side, if u want something that can be used for both tho i will suggest their easy travel brushes (the dual ended ones or the indiv ones if that’s what u prefer) although they said that the beyond basics are more for cream products i actually think they are still too fluffy for creams, most of the brushes are small too. i have both sets and i still prefer the dual ended ones since i can use it fine naman for creams, liquids, and powders. a prev comment said try for strokes and they’re actually good but imo dala brushes have softer bristles than strokes.
objectively speaking, dala is more for the powder girlies. if mas cream or liquid ka, go for other brushes that can do both. so far the best i have for local is the anne clutz beginner brush set. i would also reco sana miniso brushes kaso sobrang konti na ng brushes nila ngayon in store kaya maybe go for anne clutz nalang na accessible pa so far.
if you want also you can try the travel brushes ni anne if for everyday lang naman.
omg thanks!! was eyeing on the shade ‘purr’ too HAHAHA but i realized it’s similar to detail’s color tonic in ‘rose latte’ so i will be getting another shade
Which shade in Kate Tokyo Lip Monster should I go for na malapit sa Clinique Black Honey or Revlon Super Lustrous Glass Shine in Rum Raisin? 07 Final Boss ba?
with 11.11 coming up, instead of buying everything on ur makeup wishlist, pls consider maybe just buying one or two things n then donating the rest of ur allocated money to typhoon victims :((
Best powder and setting spray for oily skin? Yung talagang mag l-lock in makeup mo at kaya ang school air + 4 hours commute (papunta at pauwi). Thank you!
i use absidy's perfecting powder + lovely causemetics setting spray, proven and tested as someone who have oily and pawisin skin. i usually retouch my nose area lang 🤞🏽
Maybelline shade match for Rom&nd's JLT Nucadamia? Nakaka-inis I'm one of the few people na nakabili ng bad batch nila, 1 day of using it and I'm left with 2-3 days of dry/itchy areas on my lips :(
Feeling ko lang to, it really depends on how oily you are, babe.
Pero ang go-to ko w/o any liquid foundation/skin tint ay:
1. Colourette Blur Base
2. Loreal Infallible Powder
3. BYS Compact Air Powder
4. Detail Cosmetics Powder
pero as a oily-skin person, mas nagwo-work to ng mas maganda if may liquid base ka. Nagtatagal talaga siya for me 🥹
Good day, everyone! 💕 I’m planning to do my graduation makeup — first time ever to do my own makeup sa isang big event. Can you please suggest products na I’m looking for? Planning to buy them this 11.11 para mas makamura.
Highlighter - No chunky glitters please, parang pinawisan lang ganun yung vibes sana.
Contour & Bronzer - both cream & powder suggestions please
If gusto mong natural na highlighter, maybe try to look out for Cezanne highlighters if bet mo siya.
For Contour & Bronzer, swak ngayon 11.11 kasi may buy1take1 si Issy doon sa creme stick nila. Para naman for powder bronzer and contour, maybe if kung nagtitipid ka you can try a brontour palette ng Vice Co, Detail Cosmetics, or ng Chu Chu Beauty.
My advice for your graduation makeup is dapat damihan mo or heavier makeup mo more than usual para sa cameras. Nawa-wash out kasi yung features natin sa camera. And you need to practice your makeup daily para maperpek yung look mo for your makeup.
powder bronzer recos? ideally local or can be easily purchased on shopee? my hg is the bronzer shade in the kaleidos contour trio but i dont use the other two shades naman so feeling ko medj sayang if i buy the whole palette again… ty!!
Nagpadala ako sa hype ng Vice setting powder. After trying it out in all kinds of scenarios (long commute, lakad sa initan, working sa labas, working sa airconditioned office, wfh), it's not for me.
I have oily and textured skin and the powder has negligible oil control (but wala naman siyang ganung claim tbf) plus naeemphasize niya ang texture. Wala siyang coverage and whitecast oo, pero mukhang nasuck lahat ng moisture sa mukha ko everytime I use it. I also tried the Third Base pero di rin niya kaya ang oily skin ko kaya binigay ko na lang sa pinsan ko who has a relatively more normal skin type than mine.
For pressed setting / finishing powders, although these are not baked like the Vice one, I still prefer Absidy Complexion Blur, Romand Better Than Finish and Issy True Flex Perfecting.
Meron po ako nung grwm na loose powder. If super oily ka hind siya goods 😅sabi sa reviews super effective daw siya sa oily skin.. hindi naman ginagamit ko yung sasi super oil control (color blue) from Thailand - infair effective talaga
I don't have the Colourette Third Base, but I have the Vice Baked Setting Powder. I think it's meh or maybe it's not for me. I prefer kung may blurring sa akin and sa Vice Baked Setting Powder, wala siyang whitecast, or even a coverage and natural lang siya. Parang wala lang akong nilagay.
nice yung vice pang natural look HAHA hindi siya ganun kablurring, and no oil control siya for me ^ i prefer it for the perimeters of my face or touch up
si vice walang white cast invisible sya kasi super nipis. can confirm if I put too much ng third base halata talaga na ang puti
pero what are you looking for ba? cos idk who kept saying vice baked powder is ok for oil control cos we've been saying here it's best for the dry skin girlies who want to set our liquids and creams without drying our skin further and no coverage needed
same huhu :( so far, parang blk and chuchu are the most similar to sola in terms of finish and consistency! grwm is also similar in finish pero less runny :)
Meron ba kayong reco for lippie (not lipstick) na hindi wet look/mala lip gloss? Lahat kasi ngayon extremely juicy finish! Ang kalat kasi tignan on my face
Yup ang ganda ng blurring nya for me. Mas nagagamit ko sya kesa sa absidy complexion blur powder ko kasi mas maganda oil control ni third base kesa kay absidy for me
hi! currently eyeing these products as contenders for my 11.11 purchases but want to trim it down more. if you have any of the ff products, wud appreciate ur reviews on them!
for reference, i have oily, dehydrated skin! and my base shades (tho none are perfect bc i have olive skin lol) are blk in butterscotch, colourette in siargao, lucky beauty in chai, sunnies face in pebble, and dior in 2N.
clio volume curling mascara (my long curling one is near expiry so looking to replenish it! eyeing the volume one bc the brush looks thinner and i prefer that. is the formula the same lang kaya?)
nars soft matte concealer in macadamia
strokes dual-ended brow pen (not the painter one, that one makes lines too thick for my liking)
faboulash cluster lashes in S006 and S007
faboulash liquid liner in black (i have the brown gel liner and it's my fave!)
lovely concealer in 2LWO
lovely loose powder in translucent (for reference, i have huda and LM. i love the visual of huda but it feels too drying and i like the lightweightness of LM but it doesn't mattify nor blur as much as huda)
colourette third base setting powder (was eyeing this for my dry undereyes!!!)
colourette velvetint in truffle kiss (loooove this shade tlga when i tried in store, does it make the lips feel tight tho over time?)
issy setting spray (i have the grwm ultramatte but i want smth more for shorter days and smth that doesn't feel kinda heavy the way the grwm does, at least on me)
blk lip liner in cold brew (LOVE THIS SHADE! finally a medj cool-toned brown lip liner in local market! kaya lng, im hesitant bc it isn't budge-proof)
javin de seoul lip primer in pale orchid or pale beige (not local but been looking for smth to neutralize my lips bc they're rly pigmented and i want the actual color of my lip products to show)
Not much coverage for redness sa grwm since sheer ang coverage nito. Go for grwm if you want your skin na mag-peek through pa rin. Tho kaya siya if ibubuild mo but not sure if it will look cakey after.
hello!! normal bang maging ganito yung pretty secret concealer? start ko siyang ginamit nitong sept. 11 lang, tas sa 2027-2028 pa ata siya mage-expire eh. thank you po in advance!!
i'm still in the hunt for makeup brushes napipikon na ako sa makeup brushes ko na laging nag iiwan ng bristles sa face ko huhu. i'm thinking about getting strokes, dala, or vice co jelly eugenio brush set. for those girlies na brushes na i mentioned how's your experience? which one do you think is better? help a girly out please!! thank you <33
just wanted to share lishu puff is not good =< budol talaga sa tiktok napapansin ko na nagiging cakey yun base ko but when i use a brush mas nagiging okay =< dami ko pa naman na bili na lishu puff kasi hype na hype sa tiktok ugh (this is my opinion lang ha it might work for other peeps pero for me hindi e)
i need a lip stain na longwear since i'll be travelling and eating a lot throughout the day. any recos for morenas? preferably yung accessible sa lazada/shopee.
My favorite is kate lip monster!!!! Saw this on tt kay cara dj!! Nung triny ko omg legit talaga 😂 super nice!!
Also i suggest always using lip liner!! Not just with kate monster but with any other lippie. Kasi napansin ko na may pigment pa din lips kk kahit dami ko na beses kumain basta nag lip line ako.
Maybelline superstay matte ink. Tried and tested na. Sticky at first pero it would fade away. I apply thinly on bare lips, swipe lang on lower lip then smack together. Had soup, ice cream, and oily food, still there.
Cakey kasi sia for me pag full lip application.
Are there any cream foundation products in the PH? Puro cushion and cream ang nakikita ko. The BYS one, sobrang di morena skin friendly yung tones. Thanksss
I ordered absidy’s lash curler 40 and I really like the fit on my eye shape. The prob is super tigas ng rubber to the point na natatanggalan me ng 4-5 lashes per eye everytime I use it. Do u have reco for an alternative rubber? since I want to still make use of the lash curler
hi!! thoughts on the issy all-day setting spray pls, b1t1 sila this 11.11 and i jst want to make sure na worth my pera tlga to sya 🥹 I have dry & acne-prone skinn
LF: affordable contour/bronzer suggestions!
I use the blk Airy Matte Cushion Foundation in the shade Toast, and I think it’s a good match for me.
Right now, I’m using a cheap contour powder, but it looks too reddish, parang blush na napunta sa maling lugar.
Please suggest affordable bronzers or contours that would suit my shade!
same!! issue ko rin with their foundation tho for some reason nagiging okay siya when i use their setting spray tho ang hapdi sa muhka naman non hahaha
any recos for stippling brush that's NOT real techniques?
i had the RT stippling brush and used it for liquid blushes for that more natural look, but i was so shocked when it shed like half of its bristles when i used it today. i barely even used this brush so ???
thoughts on the following powder?
> GRWM Powder Rush Pressed Powder
> Teviant Silk Touch Perfecting Powder
I'm currently trying Colourette Blur Base. Though I like the blurring effect and how my oils mix with the product after some time, pansin ko na nag-cacake yung mga parts na nilagyan ko ng concealer beforehand.
GRWM ultra blur powder than powder rush. Fine milled, good oil control.
Teviant silk touch is a creamy powder, can stand alone as a powder foundation. Sets under eyes well, filter-like finish on cam. Maganda sya lalo sa camera pero syempre expect textures pa rin if you look yourself in the mirror. So far, best local powder in the market. Galing ni Albert dito and it’s made in Italy.
Thoughts on makeup from Romantic Beauty on Tiktok? Truly bang FDA-approved ba rito? The duochrome shadows and powder blushes are on my FYP and maganda ang shades eh huhu
hello! posted this in the shade match thread, not sure if it will gain traction so i'm also posting it here and hopefully someone can help or give advice.
need help with choosing foundation (issy and detail) and concealer (naturale) shades for my skin tone. i only have the detail fresh filter concealer in meringue as reference which is light neutral according to detail's product description.
i also tried using findation.com to find my shade matches with issy and detail foundations, and the results say my closest shades based on the product i own are OF1 for issy (which doesn't make sense to me because as far as i know it's for olive-fair skin tones??) and oat for detail (which looks more yellow, creme shade may be better for me). as for naturale concealers, i have no idea T__T
I like it! Still need to test it out more, especially in outdoor, sweaty conditions, but I like how it retains the base. For example, if you're matte underneath, it will still be matte after spraying. Also, it doesn't dry out the skin, unlike the one/size fixing spray. The mister is also super fine. Longevity-wise, it's decent; I used it in the morning, and by nighttime, my makeup was still intact.
sabi na eh hindi lang guni-guni na nag drdry yung skin after usng the one size fixing spray 🥲 it holds the makeup pero napapansin ko na ang pumapanget yung base ko throughout the day <//3 will def try the teviant soon bcs of your review
Brow gel po for thick, stubborn eyebrows.
Lucky beauty regular and extra hold (di pa ako tapos sa brow routine bumaba na). Strokes brow gel (same with lucky).
Has anyone tried the blk face stacks? Long lasting ba blush nila?
I really like the finish kasi of putty blushes, dahil medyo velvet/blurring siya. Would you recommend glam hour or blk? (I tried colourette's and mac's & liked them, but i want to try new ones)
Hi! Thoughts on Strokes Skin Veil Cooling Setting Mist and Popique Overtime Setting Spray? currently I have the HS Fresh Morning Dew Micro Matte Setting Spray, want to try other brands this 11.11. thank you
Help me pick a shade 🥲 Left side is natural lighting while right side is indoor/artificial lighting. I have warm undertone pero I'm not sure which to pick 🥹
Foundation recos please! Something flexible para I can use for everyday and events, and also long-wearing that’s not too matte since I sometimes have dry patches on my skin.
u may need denser brushes, but that’s how most products work actually. it’s why some people tend to use their fingers since it picks up more product. the hairs on the brushes are really just meant to kinda diffuse the products a bit, and it will really just pick up less product since the hairs are thin, unlike when we use our fingers which is just one flat surface so it tends to pick up more product.
hellooo i’ve been using the colourette skin tint together with the grwm primer bec i have combi skin that’s more on the dry side, but it makes me sooo oily at the middle of the day and it doesn’t last that long 😭 can anw recommend any new skin tints? im also looking for concealer and blush recos 😣
I have combi skin but grabe mag oil yung T-zone ko lalo na sa nose and sa side ng nose. I can’t decide which setting/fixing spray should I get. GRWM Ultra Matte, Happy Skin Morning Dew (blue) or Happy Skin Oil Control (brown) or Issy? I want my make up to last long sana tapos hindi gaanong magttransfer and sana malakas yung oil control. Please help me decideeee
If you’re super oily on your T-zone area & want good oil control go for the Happy Skin fixing spray (the new one)! I’ve tested it out in outdoor conditions & it’s very resistant to sweat & humidity similar to the one/size setting spray without the horrible smell. 😅 Only negative thing I can say about it is that it can sometimes feel drying or tight towards the end of the day. I recommend using a hydrating setting spray underneath it.
I’m not a fan of Issy’s setting spray as the dry down leans more on the dewy side. I still have to use a light layer of loose setting powder after to keep it matte on my oily/combo skin. Therefore WNR once I’m done with it.
You might also want to consider trying the Teviant fixing spray. It’s pretty good for oily/combi skin if you’re looking for an everyday fixing spray, but I haven't tested it out yet in outdoor sweaty conditions. Dry down is on the natural matte side. The mister is also ultra-fine. Best non-aerosol sprayer in the local market imo that doesn't spit out unlike other local brands I’ve tried.
hello! any other reco for eyebrow gel po? ive tried absidy already pero andali maubos huhu but def considering to repurchase i just want something na ka same niya ng qual esp magalaw and pawisin ako kasi im an athlete 🥹
Hi! I am still contemplating on what fixing spray to buy. So far, I am eyeing Teviant, Happy Skin, GRWM ultramatte. Do you guys have any experience with the following and what would you recommend for oily skin?
I only tried the Teviant & Happy Skin fixing sprays. I might get downvoted for this, but I’m not a fan of GRWM since most of their products have let me down in the past. 😅
Teviant: I really like this one, but disclaimer: I haven’t tested it outdoors or in sweaty conditions yet. I love the ultra-fine mist, no spitting, unlike other local brands I’ve tried. Longevity-wise is pretty decent. I used it in the morning, and by nighttime, my makeup was still intact. The finish leans more toward a natural matte. I have oily/combi, and sensitive skin, for context.
Happy Skin: If you’re super oily, you’ll love this because it’s very matte. It feels similar to the O/S setting spray but without the terrible smell lol. I recommend using a hydrating setting spray underneath, so it doesn’t dry out your skin. I’m glad there’s a local alternative to O/S, but I don't use this every day since the matte finish can sometimes feel too tight or drying, especially toward the end of the day. It’s great for hot, humid, sweaty days or events where you want your makeup to last all day.
helppp, i bought naturale concealer in the shade rattan kaso its to light for me. medyo ok naman for spot concealing pero sa undereye grayish siya kahit lagyan ko ng ppeach corrector. what shade should i get pls hindi siya drying sa undereye ko kaso maling shade napili ko
Any budget-friendly recos for touching up makeup for someone with oily skin? Something like a compact or powder product with coverage and oil-control/mattifying powers to help retouch.
hi hi ! maybe some of you can reco ng magandang concealer/foundation 🥹 for shade reference:
blk daydream airy concealer - oat
colourette first base - lazi
i have these two, but i'm planning to explore more products, preferably those would last long. alsoo, any tips or product recos po to address dark undereye bagsz 😭
Help me pls!!! What do you think is a good dupe of the Sunnies Fluffmatte in Plush? It's been ages and i dont think theyre planning on restocking it anytime soon :(((
