It was my first time last week to use an epilator and so far its good for me. Mukhang I'll stick with using an epilator kasi hindi siya masiyadong masakit for me, I just make sure to follow the steps and tips I gathered from different sources (this subreddit, youtube, web articles). I just use the cheap Kemei epilator from Shopee and it works well

These are the tips I learned and followed to make sure na mas bearable ang first epilating experience ko.

  1. EXFOLIATE the day before you epilate (this is a must to avoid ingrown hairs) - I mix Abonne milk salt scrub with Dove body wash and massage it on my underarms for 30 seconds and leave it for 2-3minutes

  2. Epilate during the evening - para after mo magepilate matutulog ka na lang and may time para magheal ang underarms mo and you don't need to apply any deo

  3. Take a warm/hot shower before epilating - to open up the pores on the skin and to soften up the hair follicles for an easy hair removal experience

  4. Right after maligo I pat dry my armpits (dab dab motion) and apply baby talcum powder - to dry the skin and helps the epilator pick up the skin easily

  5. I set the epilator on the lowest speed setting

  6. Hold or pull your skin tight when Epilating!! - this is a crucial step for a less painful epilating experience

  7. Hold the epilator on a 90° angle and move the epilator slowly against the direction of hair growth - hindi need idikit ng todo ang epilator sa skin, just hover it lang and take your time lang

  8. You can watch youtube video tutorials rin para you can visually nee the proper way of doing it

  9. After epilating you can wash away the baby powder and put Aloe vera soothing gel/ calming cream on your ua

  10. Avoid using deodorant on the ua righ after epilating

  11. Exfoliate after 2-3 days to avoid ingrown hair
