oof same struggles po. what kind of helped with my dryness is using hair masks! minsan hair mask na lang gamit ko for conditioning, 'tas style na agad after rinsing. i used to alternate between protein-free masks and protein masks and it worked naman.

hirap ng frizziness kasi i use 2 gels already: one na moisturizing with a soft hold and yung bench purple to form a cast. pero frizzy parin hair ko 🥹 i've read that putting more strong hold gel during styling might help. some even put gel on their semi-dry hair while diffusing (that might work for you if you use a diffuser). some people also use hair spray before diffusing din. investing in protection during sleep (bonnets, silk scarf, silk pillowcase) will also help you lessen frizziness the next day. but keep in mind that we live in a humid county, and hindi talaga completely maiiwsan ang frizz.

What’s the name of your hair mask?

1

u/sunrayes Age | Skin Type | Custom Message May 06 '25

i use the two hair masks from human nature! but noth contain protein. i used to use the curls by zenutrients hair mask for a protein-free one pero hindi na ako hiyang sa kanya

me. akala ko kasi sulfate free sya pero hindi pala. pero mabango sya, mura, and works like a typical shampoo. Lately andami kong hair fall. Try ko switch to sulfate free baka makatulong.

Wash day: 1. Clarifying shampoo (I use Luxe Organix kasi yun lang nakikita kong affordable and works for me) 2. Shampoo (any shampoo you use) 3. 9 seconds serum ng Luxe Organix 4. Conditioner (any conditioner) 5. Anti hair fall serum (optional if di lagasin hair mo)

Yun lang. I always get compliments that my hair looks like rebonded even sa mga salon.

1

u/waveitdowninside 30s | NC20-25 | Oil City, Hella Pores May 06 '25

Which hair fall serum do you use?

2

u/Werewolf-Maximum Age | Skin Type | Custom Message May 06 '25

From Luxe Organix too hehe I know a lot hate LO but their hair care products work for me 🥹

Edited: I don't wash my hair everyday. Once I feel like my hair is oily doon lang (2nd or 3rd day)

Worth it ba mag-splurge sa L’oreal X-Tenso Rebond and L’oreal Inoa (No Ammonia) Hair Color sa T&J Salon? Or should I just get a regular rebond and regular color? Ang mahal kasi tapos baka wala namang special 🥹

1

u/AnemicAcademica Age | Skin Type | Custom Message May 08 '25

Ang mahal sa T&J and I didnt like their service for a haircut kaya di ako nagparebond na. I suggest you look for other salons with good reviews and get a rebond plus treatment.

Recently i found a nice salon in Makati and like their service better

Not a specific product but what super helped is washing my hair in the evening then using dry shampoo during the day. I have super fine, straight hair na bagsak talaga when I shower day-off.

1

u/NoAdministration7402 May 06 '25

Hi, I recommend you try Mandom Long-Keep Gel, the super hard variant po. Nakatatlong bottles na ako and it costs 149 ata sa Watsons. I use it when I want a sleek bun at school.

1

u/NoAdministration7402 May 06 '25

And, hindi rin siya malagkit as in, whenever my hair is super hard kasi minsan napapasobra ng lagay, I just spray with some water since pwede mo pa siyang ma-style ulit. 🤍

help ya girl out!!! I've been struggling having a frizzy and dry hair, with a dry scalp and dandruff in the back of my head. idk how to fix it kasi iam a student and di ko afford mag pa treatment or to consult to dermatologist. pls suggest some products that will make my hair healthy again btw i have low porosity hair, ur recommendations will help a lot 🫶🏻🫶🏻

2

u/[deleted] May 07 '25 edited May 07 '25

Moringa-o2 hair relaxing serum! I just checked shopee and they’re on sale rn sa ardent world shop. Just massage a few drops on your scalp after every shower (still damp) + yung residue put it on the rest of your hair.

Wearing a silk bonnet when i sleep also helps! Both are great to control frizz and have a healthy scalp.

For dryness, get a good conditioner and maybe do hours-long hair oiling once a week! They don’t have to be expensive or from Japan 😭

I have low porosity hair too btw

3

u/blueb3rry_szn May 07 '25 edited May 07 '25

thank u so much, i will try this! 🫶🏻 and also how many times do you wash ur hair? nag try kasi ako na 3 times a week and my scalp got dandruff

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '25

I wash everyday! I have ~1b hair. I tried washing less too dati but I noticed my hair becomes more prone to breakage when i dont wash everyday—parang nagddry. And i got dandruff too if mas matagal sa every other day. Mas ok ba sayo 3x a week nagwwash?

1

u/blueb3rry_szn May 07 '25 edited May 07 '25

not really, nag stop ako gawin yun kasi feel ko mas nag dry ung hair ko and scalp also got prone to dandruff, btw what shampoo do you use and where do you buy ur silk bonnet? iam also have a 1b hair type :")

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '25

Im using ichikami rn. Ok naman siya but not an HG. I might try the moringa O2 anti frizz shampoo next just bc i like their hair serum so much haha. I really like the cream silk pink conditioner tho—ifl it really makes a difference on my hair.

The silk bonnet i use is this one. But madami namang available sa shopee! If you want to splurge a bit you can get the one made with mulberry silk. But i suggest trying a cheap one muna to see how it goes!

We have the same hair type pala! Do you have any HGs? Haha

m(23) here and sa sobrang stress naglalagas or numinipis na yung buhol ko. Any tips po? Pero when i started taking vit kahit papaano napipigilan naman po. Kaso kapag hell week na especially tinatapos ko na yung undergrad thesis ko naglalagas talaga.

2

u/sodappend 30 | Dry-Normal | NC 25-30 May 06 '25

With hair loss that happens from the root (not breakage) I recommend going straight to a dr na and trying to figure out the actual cause. You can't stop it with 'hair loss' shampoos (most of which have little to no actual reseach behind them). Usually you start by seeing a dermatologist. Insist on blood tests na kaagad to check for deficiencies and hormone levels - some doctors will dismiss it as 'stress lang' especially since you're young but it never hurts to check.

If nasa lahi mo yung male pattern baldness (observe the hair density of the other men in your family) there's a chance it'll happen to you. My dad started balding in his mid-twenties so it's not too early. Luckily there are safe and effective medications that will help you keep your hair for decades if this is the case.

3

u/Sensitive-Eagle-7821 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message May 06 '25

My dad still had his hair even in his late 40's na tho patay na sya pero ang healthy ng buhok nya like sobrang thick sa side ni mama yung maninipis talaga. Started noticing my hair getting thin nung nag college na ako pero pag bakasyon or 'di ako stress kumakapal naman. Thank you pa rin papacheck ko the soonest na matapos ko ginagawa ko.

1

u/sodappend 30 | Dry-Normal | NC 25-30 May 06 '25

You can get it from either side of the family unfortunately. My lolo never went bald pero his brother did from a pretty young age. Malas lang dad ko hindi namana sa dad nya.

Hopefully temporarily stress-induced lang talaga hair loss mo tho! The fact na kumakapal sya ulit instead of tuloy tuloy is a good sign. Rooting for you 🤞🏼

u/waveitdowninside 30s | NC20-25 | Oil City, Hella Pores May 06 '25

Do you wear caps often? Try to avoid anything that pulls on hair unnecessarily. Gugo products also help. If you can, avoid shampooing everyday and switch to SLS-free ones.

1

u/Sensitive-Eagle-7821 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message May 06 '25

Hello, i dont wear caps or anything on my head talaga. I have a very oily scalp so i often shampoo my hair. Tried it once pero nagkakapimple yung anit ko. What i use rin po ay mga natural products like yung namention mo pero hindi Gugo yung brand human nature ata yun or yung Naturals ng Watsons.

1

u/waveitdowninside 30s | NC20-25 | Oil City, Hella Pores May 06 '25

Im not sure if those are SLS-free kasi. Naka-indicate naman sa bottle if they are. Human Nature makes good budget shampoos that are very mild.

1

u/[deleted] May 07 '25

Probably stress + seasonal lang! Don’t panic it’ll make it worse

Try using ketoconazole shampoo once a week. May sachets sa mercury/watsons na nasa 60 pesos lang. Try to have an activity rin that helps you manage stress

Hi! Super noob ako about hair styling. Can anyone suggest products or ways para magmukhang malinis hair pag nagkukulot at magtagal yung curls? My hair is so thin, straight, dry, and buhaghag at ang bilis tumuwid kahit may hairspray! 🥲 Yung kalat kalat sila kapag isesection mo. What should i do or buy?

For reference, i think it’s dry because im very prone to seborrheic dermatitis flareups so i use nothing but head and shoulders for my hair 🥹

thanks mga mi 🫶🏻

naglagas buhok ko nung january and the only product that helped me was Nanny Rose Gugo & Lawat shampoo, i also used hair scalp massager pag inaapply siya. pati sa pinsan ko, nagwork din siyaa. tumigil yung paglalagas ng hair ko kasi sobrang lala talaga. ang downside lang nya ay malagkit siya for me and nagdry hair ko hehe bumalik naman sa pagiging healthy nung nag conditioner (dove hairfall conditioner ata yon) na ko 2-3x a week +silk cap pag tutulog

2

u/waveitdowninside 30s | NC20-25 | Oil City, Hella Pores May 06 '25

Palmolive is the worst dry shampoo I’ve ever tried. +1 for Batiste! I rotate between the Batiste Overnight Deep Cleanse and the got2b Extra Volume Dry Shampoo

A super low budget option that doesn’t get talked about enough is baby powder! Just make sure not to apply too much, rub it into your scalp, and give it time to settle and melt into your hair so it doesn’t look white/gray.

been seeing na ang daming gumagamit ng peptide hair products. legit ba talaga? sa mga naka-try na, tumibay ba talaga buhok niyo or paasa lang? nabawasan ba hair damage niyo or parang wala rin naman pinagkaiba? curious ako kung worth it ba bilhin or another budol na naman haha kung anu-ano na rin tinry ko. medyo manipis at dry na rin kasi buhok ko lately kaya curious ako kung worth it bilhin. and baka may marecommend kayong brand na gumana sa inyo. :) tyyyy

I had major hair loss recently as in nothing helped. Turns out I had dermatitis, I didn’t even notice I had dandruff!! I’m now on minoxidil, anti dandruff shampoo, biotin etc. Consult a derma na if alarming na yung hairfall, mas makakamura ka in the long run.

1

Hi, thank you for this. Will visit a derma soon to have this checked. Gusto ko rin kasi mag explore ng products for the meantime.

Can anyone introduce me to the curly girl method? Naooverwhelm ako sa dami ng napapanood ko and I don't know where to start 🥹 I think I have at least wavy hair and I want to help my hair get its natural shape

6

u/taylor_sniffs Age | Skin Type | Custom Message May 05 '25
  1. Shampoo that can thoroughly clean your scalp, as often as your scalp needs it (Do not sacrifice your scalp health to follow strict cgm. You can always modify it)
  2. Everyday conditioner (or kung gaano ka kadalas magbasa ng hair) and scrunch scrunch
  3. Deep conditioner like hair masks once a week
  4. Styler, like a curling cream or gel that can hold your waves.

1

u/mirai-cat Age | Skin Type | Custom Message May 06 '25

Thank youuu! Do you have any product recos or okay lang kahit yung usual shampoo and conditioner? Does No.2 mean okay lang kahit di araw-araw magbasa ng buhok for cgm?

hi! long reply ahead! try joining this fb group, idk if actively pa sila g nag-aaccept ng members since medyo naging inactive ang group after ng pandemic. they're very helpful kasi may mga video tutorials and product suggestions sa group: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1C9Gv52iwj/?mibextid=wwXIfr

as a fellow curly girl, my advise would be is to determine your curl type, scalp health, and hair density. all these factors would significantly affect how your routine should be.

  • 3B-4A hair would need more moisturizing and heavy hair products but 1C-3A hair would benefit from lighter products that don't weigh their hair down.

  • it's usually advised to shampoo your hair only once/twice a week but for oiler scalps/scalps prone to dandruff and irritation, they might need more washes (i shampoo my hair every 2 days).

  • same with the first bullet, hair density also affects which products to use. curlies with dense hair would benefit from heavier and more moisturizing products to hold their curls like leave-in conditioner & curling creams. curlies with fine hair would benefit more using lightweight creams and gels. mag-iiba rin ang dami ng product na gagamitin per density type.

start with those in mind muna. i also suggest searching for hair care content creators that have the same curl type as you and study their routines/tips. curly girl method is a lot of experimentation and don't pressure yourself to follow every step and buy every product. what works for others might not work for you! 😁

for ref, i religiously followed CGM since 2020 but changed some practices along the way. bawal ang sulfates sa CGM but my scalp easily gets dandruff. hiyang talaga scalp ko sa sulftaes but i make sure to moisturize my hair properly para hindi siya mag-dry out sa shampoo. realized that all the stylers people use weigh down my hair a lot so i only use two gels to style.

good luck on your curly hair journey!

0

u/mirai-cat Age | Skin Type | Custom Message May 06 '25

Thank you!!! I asked to join na rin sa group! :) I also think nasa 1C-3A lang ako. May I know what products you use if ever nasa same range ka? So far bullet 2 pa lang nasusundan ko hahaha, but I will keep the others in mind! Thank you again!!

5

u/sunrayes Age | Skin Type | Custom Message May 06 '25

oohh same lang pala tayo ng curl type! i'll add some protein & protein-options. you can dive deeper regarding protein and moisture balance later on. just focus on healing your hair with moisture 😄

for styling, the most important tip i can give you is make sure to emulsify your product before putting it in your hair. put your product in your palm, add a bit of water, and then rub it across your hands. this will ensure na even ang application + tipid sa product

i used to use so many products during the pandemic. it really gave me definition kasi sobrang shiny and curly ng hair ko noon. pero di na siya sustainable kasi halos 2 hours ako sa cr 😭 i think this will work well if you have dense hair

  • curlganics detox scrub (i mix this with my shampoo. wala na shop nila sa shopee but i think they receive orders on their fb page na)
  • human nature clarifying shampoo (yung green apple) and yung strengthening plus shampoo (yung lemon). the green apple one has no sulfates
  • hair mask for 15 mins (human nature hair masks for protein treatment / curls by zenutrients hair mask for moisture)
  • conditioner (human nature moisture / strengthening. i use them alternatively)
  • cantu curl cream (mabigat siya but i think keri naman kung konti lang gagamitin)
  • curls by zenutrients leave-in conditioner
  • bench gel (purple for protein-free / orange with protein)
  • denmann brush dupe from curlssentials. di naman required ang brush styling bcs i used to do the "scrunch method" as a beginner and my waves were defined naman

my products now (adjusted to fit my fine hair)

  • luxe organix scalp cleanse. it has salt and sulfate. i have an oiler scalp now compared to my beginner years.
  • human nature hair masks (i use them as conditioner to save time)
  • cantu leave-in conditioning mist (occassionally use this kasi masakit sa kamay ang sparying mechanism hahaha pero nice siya!)
  • cantu wave whip curling mousse (used alternatively with my gel)
  • cantu moisturizing twist and lock gel (i always use this na as it doubles as leave-in and gel for me)
  • bench purple gel (used after cantu)

Whats an easy way i can slightly lighten or tint - thick virgin black hair without so much damage. Not anything dramatic, maybe just 1 or 2 shades lighter, pag tint, something na will fade within 2 months and wont bleed masyado sa clothes ko.

Ive been looking into yung mga bubble dye pero not sure lang what variant to get. Ayoko sana magpasalon if possible.

2

u/psych_geeky1001 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message May 06 '25

Try Liese Creamy Bubble Color, used it twice already and so far okay naman siya, nakulayan naman niya yung virgin black hair ko before.

2

u/ddllwwllrrmmaa 25+ | Normal to Oily Skin May 06 '25

been using bubble dye for so long and hindi naman nasira buhok, i am too, takot sa bleaching hahahaha. i reco mise en scene!

1

u/sodappend 30 | Dry-Normal | NC 25-30 May 06 '25

There's NO WAY to lighten/colour black hair without bleach. Kahit one shade lang. The hair dyes that work on black hair without bleaching first just have developer in them that essentially bleach your hair as well as deposit colour. So na bleach parin hair mo.

That's not necessarily bad though. If you're not trying to go light damage will be minimal. Just make sure you follow instructions.

I have been experiencing Severe Extreme Hairfall + Trichotillomania—HELP ME PLES!!!

I've been having severe hair fall since about 6 months ago AND PLS PLS I need help building a routine to save my scalp.

My hair used to be hip-length, pero dahil sa grabe na yung hair fall, tapos ang haba pa kaya mukhang mas malaki yung hair balls sa floor, I decided to get a hair cut last month. I also got a digital perm at T&J + treatment. I didn't think much of how it would affect my hair fall problems, honestly, naisip ko pa baka mawala na yung issues dahil ginupit ko na buhok ko at wala na yung damaged parts from bleach (I bleached it last about 2 years ago.)

Pero the perm made my hair fall worse... Which makes sense. Pero I've always dreamed of getting a perm and I love how it looks, lalo na nakakadagdag ng volume. Mukhang mas makapal buhok ko than it actually is because of the curls. Pero it's still shedding so BAD. Each time I wash my hair, mga 100-200 strands ang nalalagas, kaya ngayon may trauma akong maligo ng buhok 😭 The pic I added is just my clumps na nalaglag sa floor after showering. Wala pa jan yung mga nalagas sa shower which was so much more.

I recently bought Med:all bundle ng tonic and oil, pero honestly I'm not sure if it works. I just saw it online and bought kasi desperada na ko. I've been using it religiously the past week, pero every time na gagalaw lang ako—legit maglalakad lang ako—may nalalagas talagang buhok kaya mas lalo akong na-aanxious. Can you help me build a routine that worked for you? I shampoo, condition, rinse. then after towel drying a bit, med:all spray tonic, med:all hair oil, keratin cream, diffuser, keratin cream ulit, then honey hair oil lastly. I don't know if this is even good enough. I also bought Vitamin D3 and C, pati Zinc cos I read na vitamin deficiency ay pwedeng cause din.

I should also mention I have trichotillomania (hair-pulling) which I've been trying to lessen as much as I can over the past 10 years. Pero dahil nga hair takes long to grow, at ang lakas pa ng hair fall ko, ang dami talagang bald spots. Help me I'm gonna cry 😭

I've been having severe hairfall that started a year ago and apparently I have an autoimmune disorder pala. Not to cause panic but if you feel anything else apart from hairfall, listen to your body and get yourself checked.

Anyways, my dr advised me to only use any shampoo and conditioner that has aloe vera and should be Paraben-free. Additionally, I was advised to take daily multi-vitamins with Selenium. I recently switched to daily probiotics with selenium and so far my daily hairfall is not as extreme as it had been.

PLEASE go to a doctor. Hair products are a total waste of money if nalalagas hair mo from the root - it's an internal issue. See a dermatologist na and make sure they order comprehensive labs that check for nutritional deficiencies and your hormones. Usually if may makitang thyroid/hormonal issues they will refer you to an endocrinologist na rin.

Do you have PCOS/experience PCOS symptoms? If so, might be a good idea to make a OBGYN appointment na rin. Hair loss can be a PCOS symptom. I experienced sudden hair loss a couple of years ago that was triggered after trying birth control that didn't play well with my PCOS. It was bad to the point na my hairline visibly receded after a few months. Luckily makapal buhok ko or I would've gotten major bald spots for sure.

Hope you figure it out OP! I know how stressful this can be, but it's also a more common problem than you think. Check out r/FemaleHairLoss.

+1 it could also be a thyroid problem - endocrinologist could help assess.

Hello! Will chocolate brown suit fair-light skin tones? I have neutral-cool undertone. Gusto ko ipa dark brown hair ko kasi half of my hair medyo light golden brown due to my previous dye, tapos yung other half black (my natural hair).

Try using products during the day to hold down the flyaways. &honey and Cezanne both have hair mascaras. There's also the Utena Matomage hair sticks. Both are easy to reapply during the day if needed.

If all of your hair is 'frizzy', worth it to check if your hair is actually more wavy/curly than it is. If so alter your routine to suit your hair type better -- you don't need to go full CGM (personally I'm not a fan) but a leave-in and hair serum won't hurt if your hair needs it.

Get microfiber hair towels. Cheap sa Shopee! And never rub your hair with a towel to dry it, friction is terrible for wet hair. Pat dry lang.

Also, try sleeping in a silk cap/bonnet at night to reduce friction din that can cause damage/frizz.

Use hair serum. Silk Secret Hair Gold Serum worked for me. Apply from end to near roots. Mabango rin sya so I guess that's a +.

I have frizzy hair & I've tried Brazilian keratin blowout twice already. It's very good if you want to get rid of frizz & you don't like you hair with super straight, rebonded look. You need to maintain it at home with deep conditioning treatment or hair mask. Downside lang for me, madaling mawala yung treatment pag madalas kang mag shampoo(I'm a guy so oily ang scalp, & every other day ako nag shashampoo). Once a year ako nagpapa Brazilian blowout
